Dear Support Team,

Although ACL has been set to disallow access to general public and categories are made accessible only to selected members, ED4 User Profiles, which include all related posts, are still accessible to Public through the ED4 toolbar (see attached).

There doesn't seem to be any other configuration settings that could prevent this from happening. Could you please confirm?

Thanks!
Hi there,

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. Correct me if I am wrong, regarding your inquiry, you want to hide the categories and user toolbar only for public/guest user?
If yes,Unfortunately there is no setting for this currently. Perhaps you can make a suggestion on our voice : http://stackideas.com/voices/easydiscuss , so that our developers can add this features on the next update .

The post is still not visible if you click on it but yes, there is a bug because the posts shouldn't be included in the replies of a user. This will be addressed on the next release.

Hi, Mark and Muhammad,

Actually, neither User Profile nor Posts on a member only site with restricted access should be shown to the public. Understand from Mark there is a bug with the posts. Could you also confirm visibility of User Profile will also be fixed with the next release?

Thanks!

Hey there,

I've checked in my locally, I am not sure the issue is it you mentioned at above, perhaps you can take a look of my explanation here and see is it match with your reported that issue, if yes, I already logged this issue in our codebase and will fix this in next release version.

1. Don't allow public user view discussion under this "category A".
2. But the category A discussion still appear on user profile 'reply' filter

By right, it should not visible these category A discussion on the user profile page.

Hi, Arlex,

What you described is correct, except posts under Category A will appear on the User Profile page, whatever filter you choose. As Mark says, however, details of those posts will still not be accessible to the public.

I also think it would be inappropriate for users and their profiles to be visible to the public, when the board is set up as a member only restricted site. Could you please confirm the next release will also fix this issue?

Many thanks!

Thanks took your time for explained this again.

What you described is correct, except posts under Category A will appear on the User Profile page, whatever filter you choose. As Mark says, however, details of those posts will still not be accessible to the public.

Yes, the system will check the current logged in user/guest user categories permission is it accessible the discussion post on your site. If there is not allow guest user to view this category discussion post, it will not visible on the discussion page and user profile page.

This will fix in next release version.

I also think it would be inappropriate for users and their profiles to be visible to the public, when the board is set up as a member only restricted site. Could you please confirm the next release will also fix this issue?

May i know where do you set this restricted setting from backend?
Because in Easydiscuss 4, you can disable "Allow public Guested to view user profile" setting from backend > Easydiscuss > layout > users, you can refer on my attached screenshot below.

Hope this help.

Hi, Arlex,

I have just installed the latest release and see that the issue with headlines of posts being shown has been fixed. But ED4 is still showing the full list of users to Public, even though the profile setting has been updated per your instructions. As I explained, it wouldn't be appropriate to allow non-members to be able to view the list of members (simply by clicking "Users" on the menu bar) on a member-only access-restricted site.

Could you please confirm whether I have missed any setting in the configuration or when this will be fixed?

Thanks!

There is a new settings in Settings > Layout > Users where you can restrict public users from viewing user's profile.

Hi, Mark,

That has been set and public users are no longer able to view the profiles. However, the list of users is still in full view. Could you please confirm this will be fixed?

Thanks!

Do you mean when you click on Easydiscuss toolbar `Users` menu link?

if yes, can you try download my attached file and replace into this file and see how it goes?
JoomlaFolder\components\com_easydiscuss\views\users\view.html.php
