Hi!

What does it take for the EB composer to load? It is not loading on my dev which is running on J3.4.1, just upgraded from EB3.4.x and my user joomla profile editor is set to Use Default. Also in EB Setting under Composer I set it to Default - EasyBlog Composer.

This happens in both admin and frontend side.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hi Arlex,

I was testing it in my dev server not in the account I provided in my other post. But just to verify I just check it out and yes you are right the composer loads... only when you create a new post. Try to edit an old post and JCE (which Joomla's default editor) loads rather the composer. Is that how EB5 was designed? Only new posts uses the composer and previous postings loads the default editor?

Regardless of what people are saying about the composer, I believe that's the next generation of editing not just for blog but for general article edit. And I want this composer to work .

Also, try to load the Event template in the composer you will see that the background layout is getting cut off please look at my screen capture and this is only happening in J2.5.

Thanks,

Jackson

hi Jackson,

Sorry for late reply to this,

I think I have do some explanation on this following post thread, please have a check.

Regardless of what people are saying about the composer, I believe that's the next generation of editing not just for blog but for general article edit. And I want this composer to work .

Unfortunately that was not possible to make composer to show in which existing blog post created from Easyblog 3.9.

Also, try to load the Event template in the composer you will see that the background layout is getting cut off please look at my screen capture and this is only happening in J2.5.

Hi Arlex,

I know you guys are swamp with all the EB issues but please work with me on this I am working with you guys and try to help you fix any bugs or issues but if I can ask you to please donot tell me that you tested it in your local Joomla 2.5 and everything looks fine. If I'm going to use EB5 on a fresh install, I won't ask you guys for tech support. I am working on it in a copy of our live website and everything is populated and have already been setup. Do you see what I mean? EB might have settings in CSS or JS that are overwritten by the template or something I don't know.

Can you please take a look at it in my website and if you think and verified that EB is not causing why the event template is cutting off then I must agree with you. But at least give me a reason that it has something to do with our website CSS or javascript. But please not something that just because you tested it in your local install then there's nothing wrong with EB5 anymore. Please please don't let me hear this kind of reasoning from StackIdeas support anymore, this is the kind of answer I usually get from component developers that has bad support. Is stackideas going to that route now? I hope not!

Thanks,

Jackson

hi Jackson,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply and I would love to check you reported the issues on this post thread but I noticed you missed provide your Joomla 2.5 dev site access on this post thread, so I decided check on my locally and see is it can reproduce this first.

By the way, I would like to suggest you can directly set your site detail on your profile from -> http://stackideas.com/forums/profile/edit (click site detail tab), so you no need apply your site detail for each post thread on our forum and speed up on the support.

After I took some time I find out your site access from other post thread, then I checked on your event template cutting off issues, it seems like your current template css conflict with the composer styling, because if I change back to Joomla default template then everything is work fine. By the way, I already pass this css styling issues to our designer and he will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hello Jackson,
Also, try to load the Event template in the composer you will see that the background layout is getting cut off please look at my screen capture and this is only happening in J2.5.

For the composer styling issues is because the DOCTYPE for component.php is outdated, I have updated the file for you
(/templates/lakeave_res/component.php)
from
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

change to
<!DOCTYPE html>
