EasySocial is pretty good in terms of its social capabilities. However, one feature that would be a nice addition would be to further expand its ability to use @ and # symbols. Not only in EasySocial but in all of Joomla. I am sure this could be accomplished using a plugin.

The problem I am having in easysocial is things like Event and Group discussions or notes. Often times we want to use this functionality on our site where users might not already be engaged so we can engage them. Having this ability would further encourage social engagement.

Thanks
James
Also applying it to the already existing ES content plugin would also be pretty sweet. Having Joomla articles use social aspects would indeed help bridge ES to Joomla content. Especially referencing users with the @user. James, you should create a voice page and link it to this thread. It would most certainly win my vote.

@Josh, I wouldn't mind putting it on the voices page but that to me is a joke in itself. Its bloated with crap and needs to be cleaned up. I also honestly doubt the StackIdeas Team uses it. Just my two cents. I might look into paying to have it made if it becomes a necessity to me but it should atleast by default work in all aspects of EasySocial.

Thanks for your input and suggestions James and Josh. This is something which we would love to achieve but as you may have noticed, we are pretty short handed and we're trying our best to get the road block (EasyBlog) sorted and release so we can start kicking EasySocial 1.4 out.

Not a problem, just some ideas to look for in a future release.

Thanks

Mark, are the @ and # in the EasySocial documentation?

If it is documented I may take a stab at it myself.

Thanks

Hello James,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. We currently do not have documentations for these codes but you can take a look at the file /media/com_easysocial/scripts/site/conversations/composer.js where we implement the suggestions.
