Hello,

I tried to update easysocial to the new 1.4.1 version but it gets stuck on Step 5 (see screenshot attached).

Any ideas what I could change to make it work?

best,
jakob
Hi Jakob,
I have had the same issue on a couple of sites but after a few more attempts it seems to work fine, no idea what might be causing this.
Hope it works for you!

Chris

Hi Jakob,
On one of the sites I had to try maybe six times, I noticed that even though it hadn't completed the install it had created the menu items to it in the admin and on the front end, when I clicked on the Easysocial link in the admin it started the install again and eventually it finished the install off and I could access the back end dashboard. Wish I knew what was causing this strange behaviour.
Regards
Chris

Just went through the process a couple more times but still have the same problem. Will give it some time to rest (and restore those magic self-healing powers) and try later again.

Hey Jakob,

I already help you updated to 1.4.1 version, can you give it a check and everything okay now?

By the way, whoever installation stuck on step 5 maintenance, you can follow my instruction here for temporary fix this, we will release another new version on next week Monday.

#1. Download the latest launcher from http://stackideas.com/dashboard
#2. upload the launcher installer through Joomla
#3. when it load until 100% at step 4 (screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/duXrNHxfikK ) (Don't click next first)
#4. Apply these 2 files in your local
- JoomlaFolder\administrator\components\com_easyblog\includes\cache\cache.php
- JoomlaFolder\administrator\components\com_easysocial\models\avatars.php

#5. After uploaded then click next

Hope this help.

Hi Arlex,

thank you for the update, I would love to wait until you release the fixed version but my ES subscription ends on monday - any chance to still get the file afterwards?
If not I will try to follow your instructions, just one question beforehand:
#4. Apply these 2 files in your local

What do you mean by "apply"? How does that work?

best,
jakob

Hi,

Same issue here. Easysocial installation got stuck on step 5. First install of easysocial on an existing website with users:

POST http://www.xxxxxxxxxxx.info/administrator/index.php?option=com_easysocial&ajax=1&reinstall=1&controller=maintenance&task=syncUsers 500 (You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ',,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,' at line 1 SQL=SELECT * FROM `jos_social_default_avatars` WHERE `uid` IN (,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,) AND `type`='profiles')

I compared the downloaded package "models\avatars.php" file with the one retrieved by the installer but they are identical. I thought the files would be added as attachment in the above post but i see no downloads.

Either it just needed time or someone from stackideas helped me out - either way Thank you!
