Would it be possible to provide integration with the new EasyProfile extension?

It's a great extension to fill the gap between having a more elaborate profile system for users without having the full social network with EasySocial and CB etc provide.

Would it be possible to have this as an integration option for linking to profiles and avatars?
Hello Simon,

Sure, you could always submit for feature requests at http://stackideas.com/voices/easyblog

Hi,
I too have this need. EasyProfile sets the avatar in the profile based joomla .....

there is no way that EasyBlog also take the avatar from joomla as well as profile information?
thanks

Doesn't EasyProfile take the avatar from it's own custom field?

Hello Guys,

Currently EasyBlog does not support EasyProfile yet but we might add support for this in EasyBlog 5

Hello Luana,

Joomla does not actually have an avatar field so not really sure how do we pull such information?

Yeah - Luana, just to be clear as far as I know there is no built-in Avatar for Joomla, hence the need for EasyProfile, EasySocial etc to all have their own custom fields to contain them.

Hi,
I'm a developer of Easy Profile

I know this post is very old, but maybe this reply can be useful.

Stackideas products(EasyBlog,EasyDiscuss,Komento) not support Easy Profile natively, but you can use a simple workaround to do this.

We have developed a small addons called "Jomsocial Bridge".

With "Jomsocial Bridge" you can configure EasyBlog (also EasyDiscuss and Komento) to get avatar and profile link from Jomsocial, our bridge will return data from Easy Profile.

Follow these simple steps:
- Install Easy Profile
- Install EasyBlog
- Install Jomsocial Bridge (you don't need Jomsocial product), you can download it from
- Now configure EasyBlog
1. Go to Components->EasyBlog
2. Go to Settings->Layout
3. In "Avatar" section set parameter "Avatar integrations" to "Jomsocial"

Small docs at

Some other information about Easy Profile
Doesn't EasyProfile take the avatar from it's own custom field?
Yes avatar is a core custom field.
Yeah - Luana, just to be clear as far as I know there is no built-in Avatar for Joomla, hence the need for EasyProfile, EasySocial etc to all have their own custom fields to contain them
. This is true, but the difference is that Easy Profile uses same "Edit Profile" and "Registration" pages (frontend and backend) of Joomla. Easy Profile extends Joomla User Profile with own Joomla User Plugin. So you will have only one profile management (Joomla com_users).

We hope that in the future Stackideas includes native support for Easy Profile. We have API to get profile data, docs
