Hello,

We are experiencing an issue when trying to post blogs to LinkedIn. The thumbnail and description are not displaying at all: http://prntscr.com/8jqex9

LinkedIn support is saying that we are not following the Open Graph Protocol that LinkedIn requires, but we have no problem posting the blogs to Facebook, which has similar Open Graph Protocol.

This is what LinkedIn support sent:

Below are the og: tags that must exist and their correct format:

<meta property='og:title' content='Title of the article"/>
<meta property='og:image' content='//media.example.com/ 1234567.jpg"/>
<meta property='og:description' content='Description that will show in the preview"/>
<meta property='og:url' content='//http://www.example.com/URL of the article" />

Can you please provide some insight on this? We believe that we are following the Open Graph Protocol, so we are not sure why this is not working.

Thank you for your time!
Hey Chris,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a public holiday for us here.

I've checked in my test site, it should display the og tag correct format, can you provide us with your Joomla backend, Linkedin and FTP access so we can better have a check?

Hello Arlex,

Thank you for your reply.

I cannot provide you with the LinkedIn credentials, but the site credentials and FTP credentials are listed below. We have tried this from several LinkedIn accounts, so you should be able to test with any account.

Thank you for your help!

Hey Chris,

I am sorry that delay of this reply,

it seems like you are using very old 3.9 version -> 3.9.19775 , by the way I've applied some fix in this file JoomlaFolder\components\com_easyblog\classes\linkedin\helper.php , can you follow my instruction re-authenticate Linkedin account in your Easyblog and see how it goes?

LINKEDIN REVOKE ACCESS STEP in EB3.9x
Actually the Linkedin revoke need to do it from your phpmyadmin > find this table "jos_easyblog_oauth" > then you will see this linkedin row " http://screencast.com/t/2X9ow6jHs " > so you have to delete it > after delete it then go your apps setting > Click Revoke > Click "Regenerate token" > Save
Then go to your Easyblog Linkedin autopost setting > Click Sign in with Linkedin
After you did everything, then try submit a post and see how it goes?

If still the same, can you provide us with your phpmyadmin access so we can remove that record from this table jos_easyblog_oauth then re-authenticate with my Linkedin account then test on it?
