Hi,

Installation method 1 just keeps loading after entering the API key at step 2, method 2 fails to extract the files at step 3 and method 3 uploads fine but again fails to extract at step 3.

All the settings give the green light and PHP post_max_size has been set accordingly. I really want to try something new besides K2 and WP, but this feels like starting with Mage...

Please help me to get this started and promise the end user will love it ;-)

Gr.

hey Martijn,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a public holidays for us here today.

I've checked in your site, it seems like you hitting this error when proceed to step 3 installation :
index.php?option=com_easyblog:1 XMLHttpRequest cannot load http://www.pinkfreewifi.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_easyblog&ajax=1&controller=license&task=verify. No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://pinkfreewifi.com' is therefore not allowed access.

May I know your server is it restrict your site when user try to access http://www.pinkfreewifi.com then it will redirect to http://pinkfreewifi.com? If yes, is there a way to temporary disable this restriction then try install again and see how it goes?

Thanks for checking.

Please remember this is a live site and I changed back the error reporting. For some reason the masked subdir 'start' now appears in my sef url?! Did you change something else?

Other components did install succesfully and I wonder what happens if I got to step 3, like I did with the install from directory. Will the www/non-www still exist? Otherwise we will have to move to another host.

Regards,

Martijn

Hi Arlex,

The start url seems to be fixed. Not sure if you were working on it or if it was the browser cache.

Thanks,

Martijn

Yes, it seems like your server restrict user access http://www.pinkfreewifi.com/ with www prefix, if you access your site URL with www prefix, it will redirect back to http://pinkfreewifi.com/, perhaps you can consult with your webhosting provider regarding this first?

I believe that would be easy to solve this from the hosting.

By the way, what do you mean for the start url?

Hi Arlex,

The setting seems to be restricted by the host: a ticket is send; keep you posted.

I think you changed the live site url in config, not? That broke subdir mask url rewrite.

Thanks,

Martijn

Hey Martijn,

Yes, I changed it to empty live site = ''; , because previously got a lot of customer having this similar issue is because they put their domain name in live_site, example : http://mysite.com/ , so when the site request some data from server, it will follow what you set the domain name from configuration.php.

If you access http://www.mysite.com then request some data from server, it will hitting similar this error as I posted at above.

I am very apologize that If because of this causing your subdir mask url rewrite broken.

By the way, keep us updated then once your hosting response you.

Hi Mark and Arlex,

Let's try once more. The login credentials are updated. PLEASE don not change the configuration.

Actually if you go to Components -> EasyBlog, you can select the package under step 2 and try again.

Looking forward to your findings.

Thanks,

Martijn

Hey Martijn,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply and given us a chance to check on this installation issue.

I've tried to upload the installer zip file through in your Joomla installer, but this time I hitting this 504 Gateway Time-out - nginx from your server response.

Actually this is pretty common error, are generated most probably by the PHP max execution time limit or by the FastCGI read timeout settings. Can you consult with your webhosting provide regarding this and fix the nginx 504 gateway timeout error?

Once your webhosting provider sorted out this, I will try install again.

Looking forward of your response.

Hi Arlex,

The max_execution_time is already set to 120 while 60 is the minimum system requirement for EasyBlog to install. For now it seems that every new attempt brings up another error. My client is in dispute with the host (and trying to move), but is also in need of a working blog. Therefore I have to go on with K2 this time.

Could you please ask Mark to proceed with the refund? Thanks for all your help and understanding! Until next time.

Kind regards,

Martijn

hey Martijn,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply,

I already consult with Mark regarding this, perhaps you can give us final chance try to install Easyblog in your site?

This time I will get my senior to help on this.

If can, can you unlock this `superuser` user account so we can give it a try again?

Hi Arlex,

To be honest we already tried a lot and as a result I am moving the site to a different host and going to use K2 after all. Because Joomlart supports Easyblog I probably will try again in the near future. For now I need to move on. Will you tell Mark?

Thanks,

Martijn
