Hi there,
I believe I have written previously about this and I got a pretty vague response.

I am (happily) using Easyblog for my website (http://www.2picture.me/2picture-blog/2picture-blog/ )
There are a number of issues but the main issues are:

1: example: http://www.2picture.me/it/2picture-blog/2picture-blog/usa-on-the-road-with-biogroove
the blog "facebook plugin" (when I am logged on) reports 40 "likes" but on my facebook page the article is not showing this. If this is expected behaviour it is weird and useless as what is the point in having facebook likes that are not showing on facebook ?
Have a look at my facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/2picture) with the article not showing the 40 likes reported on easyblog (it is the first one highlighted) I add an attachment with a screenshot of the facebook page.

It would be desirable to have the same number of likes on the Easyblog plugin and corresponding Facebook page article.

2: The people that place a like on the page are not showing an avatar .. on the above case only 2 are showing (mine and another person.. ) Why is this and why are all the avatar (or at least the number selected on the configuration panel of easyblog showing ?)

PLease could someone get back to me and let me know what is the problem as in the configuration aI have checked all possible settings and there is nothing that can be adjusted for either (likes or for the avatars ... ) I already selecetd the settings for the avatars that should be showing..

Thanks in advance ..
I HAVE A PAID EASY BLOG SUBSCRIPTION !!
Hello Patrick,

I have replied to your Issue #1 on the other forum thread but I am just quoting it here again since you made a new post on this.

I am sorry for the confusions earlier but this is actually what I have been referring to. When the items are auto posted, it doesn't link the likes for the particular item on the blog and the stream item on Facebook currently (unfortunately). It doesn't seem to be possible to link both items currently with Facebook's API.

2: The people that place a like on the page are not showing an avatar .. on the above case only 2 are showing (mine and another person.. ) Why is this and why are all the avatar (or at least the number selected on the configuration panel of easyblog showing ?)

There's no way to control this. I believe the Faces that appears for you would only be your friend's faces. Facebook does not display faces that are not your friends. We only tell Facebook whether faces should be shown when the plugin is generated. You can see their api for likes at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/like-button/

Hello Patrick,

Just out of curiosity, are you running on SH404? Also, do you post your posts from the back end or the front end? What if you copy the URL http://www.2picture.me/it/2picture-blog/2picture-blog/usa-on-the-road-with-biogroove manually and post it on Facebook. Does Facebook link the likes?

Hi,

we have the same question, I just kept wondering where the Facebook likes show up or what they actually do and couldn't find any of the likes on the page being transferred or shown even if I copy and paste the link and share it on Facebook.
It would be very useful if this would work correctly as it does make a huge difference.

I will try and see if it works if I enable auto-posting to Facebook, (which I didn't do so far as it doesn't allow me to add an individual catchy phrase connected to the content of the blog post) and update this in case it functions.

all the best,

Hello Gernot,

The linking would only happen when the exact URL is shared on Facebook and the exact URL is being accessed on the site.

Mark,

I'd like both URLs to match. My site's blog entry URL uses this format:

http://yoursite.com/menu/view/title (default EasyBlog format)

and the FB post uses this format:

http://yoursite.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&view=entry&id=4&Itemid=1564

The SEO default routing behavior is used if that matters. I'd prefer to use the site's format as it is obviously more meaningful. How do I change the FB auto post URL to match the site's URL?

Thanks

Hi Arlex.

Joomla version 3.2.3 and EasyBlog version 3.9.16263.

I don't have SH404SEF installed but will be using it later.

Thanks

Hello Jereme Downs,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.
Thanks for take your time to provide us those details
Do you actually always publish the blog post from backend?
If yes, can you download my attachment file and replace in your file and see how it goes?
-> JoomlaFolder\components\com_easyblog\helpers\router.php

If you publish the blog post from frontend also hitting the non-SEF-URL, then you have to provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this.
