EasyBlog Category
-
When we post a new blog inside EasyBlog then it shows to select the Category.
But actually when we create a blog on blogger.com, wordpress.com then category is not available, so is that possible to disable the category selection and every post posted in a hidden category. Please tell me prons or cons of this?
During new blog creation, lots of publishing options are available for the author, is that possible to disable those too.. I don't get such options to control in the backend demo.

Hello Ash,
I am sorry but unfortunately you can't just "disable" the category selection and I don't think it's a good idea to hide it anyway because then your content would be a little messy since it's not categorized in the appropriate section and I do think you might lose out in terms of SEO.
As for the publishing options, most of these are actually not configurable mainly because those are like the "basic options" that you need to alter if you want but it is not necessary to change them as the default values are sufficient enough. You can use css to actually hide them too.

Hello Ash,
You can disable the publishing rights for the particular user group and when the user doesn't have privileges to publish posts, the posts that they have submitted will land up in the moderation / pending queue.
It depends on what you configure the editor plugin through the plugin manager as EasyBlog only tells Joomla to render the appropriate editor plugin and the settings will be generated from Joomla.

For publishing rights you mean, Under EasyBlog ACL, change the setting for "Contribue on Frontpage" to NO, so no blog will be listed on frontpage under Admin approves or change the publish setting here?
If comments are posted using Facebook social plug-in then that can't be moderated using "Comments"?

Hello Ash,
In the back end of EasyBlog there is a section called "ACL". If you click on that, you'll be able to assign specific permissions / privileges to certain user groups. In one of the ACL policy, there's something that says "Publish Entry". You only need to disable this. You can view it here, http://screencast.com/t/H4ydnL5EU

Hello Ash,
Sorry but I am not too sure which feature are you referring here but if you are referring to the "category", what you can do is to create different menu items that links to each categories or use the module like you mentioned earlier in your site's home page. With the latest blogs module, you can specify which category should it render items from.
