Hi SI Team

This is probably really easy but it has me stumped!
Can not get tool bar to show!
Module: EasySocial Toolbar [mod_easysocial_toolbar]
The module is published to position-2 in Wanderers on Joomla 2.5
In Easy Social/Themes/Toolbar : I have “Show Toolbar” to Yes.
I am talking about the blue bar in the screen shot

Am I missing something surely this should work!?!

best

Paul
Hello Paul,

The dropdown menu module will pull menu items that you created in a menu that you want it to pull from. If you do not want that menu to be visible in that dropdown, simply delete the menu item on your Joomla site and it's as simple as that.

Please provide us with the FTP access to look into this. By the way, I am just wondering how were you able to download the template since the template is only available for EasyBlog Pro and EasySocial Pro users?

Okay, it looks like you are using the Wanderers template and in the wanderers template we actually override the toolbar template file to not display anything at all.

Why would you want to do that?
Are there other other modules that essential do what the tool bar does?
Or am I missing something?

Because in wanderers we don't actually render the toolbar.

Why? Have the feeling that I am missing something very basic here?
Am I suppposed to be using Profile Menu Module instead?

Because of the design / layout in wanderers, we have chosen to override the toolbar file so that the toolbar will not be generated and when the module renders the toolbar files, it's also not generating any contents.

Hello Paul,

In the Wanderers template we do not render the toolbar and this is the same for the module.

The module being the module that displays the tool bar right?
I am really sorry but I do not understand why this kind of functionality is switched off?
Has the functionality of the tool bar been replaced by something else?

Revamped User's Toggle Menu
here:
http://stackideas.com/blog/wanderer-the-stable-release-is-here-it-s-free
When I look at my screen shots for this drop down menu, I do not see an option to switch to ES menu points.
If there were an option I think this would do pretty much every thing the tool bar does!
Last but by no means least pulled for the SI Blog post!

Hello Paul,

When you are using the Wanderers template, the toolbar's template file is overriden because we do not want to display the toolbar in EasySocial. That being said, when the module tries to render the module, it also renders the template and since it is empty, it is not outputting anything. This is the standard behavior of the template

Hi Mark

Thanks for bearing with me on this.
Can I change what is being displayed by the “User's Toggle Menu”
Is there not a way to get my menu to look like the Wanderers menu on the demo Site
Please see second and third screen shot above!
First screen shot shows the menu options I have in: Module mod_easysocial_dropdown_menu

under: Basic Options

Render Menu Items is set to yes
Select Menu Type is set to main menu

In the dropdown menu module, all it does is that it would display the menu items under the drop down. On our demo site, we created a menu solely to be used by the dropdown menu so that you can pull these menu items into the module.

Maybe I have lost the plot but would it not make sense to be able to pull down some of those tool box like menu points
Some of the stuff in the screen third screen shot from the right above!
As of now where am I going to do an advanced search. I have to publish a Search module I guess.
Or what if I want to edit my Privacy Settings
Customise my Page
Edit My Profile
etc
Like maybe I am missing something but it just seems to me that this menu could really be used to tie a lot of important stuff in together and help avoid serious round the round about clicking!
Sorry that this topic has gone so way off...

Hi Mark

Got it. Thanks so much for your patience.
I set up a Menu called it “BUG nuts and bolts”
Added stuff like, Profile, Edit Profile, Edit Privacy etc
all to above named menu
Activated this menu:
“BUG nuts and bolts”
here:
EasySocial Dropdown Menu [mod_easysocial_dropdown_menu]

Now this makes sense

thanks so much for putting me on the straight and narrow

best

Paul
