Hello,

I deleted posts as Super User, some of them from frontend, some of them from backend (then deleted trashed posts). So they should be gone forever - however the files are still on the server - i.e. the consecutive article folders are still in folder: images/easyblog_articles.

Is this only my case or is this default that the EB files are not deleted from server after post deletion?
This makes a mess in joomla directory on the server and of course impact the website backup size.

I would be grateful for info,

Thanks!
Hey there,

I've tested in my locally, if the article you delete from frontend or backend (delete it from trashed fliter), it will delete that image from the article id folder.

If you test again :
- Create a new post and include some image on the post
- Delete it from frontend
- if the article id folder still exist, can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so I can better have a look?

// Login from your Joomla backend

// Connect with your FTP server
Response: 530 Permission denied.
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

Hello,

So I tested it a bit, created and deleted articles and the issue is still there. In the folder images/easyblog_articles there are all folder created for every single article ever created on the website. These folders contain a lot of images.

Should I remove the folders of non-existing-articles manually through FTP?

Details for FTP access updated.

Thank you for looking into this.

- Yes you can delete it manually.

Deleting a blog post should relocate the image files to your user images folder. As you can see in /images/easyblog_images/371/ , there are article folders that contain the image of the article. These folders are created once the blog post is deleted.
