Hi, when I create a post and choose a new category and then deselect the default (uncategorized), there are 2 sections of the same Custom Fields, as if I had chosen 2 categories that had the same Custom Fields. After saving the post, the text that was inserted into the top Custom Fields is deleted (only dropdown content remain) and the second set of Custom Fields disapears. This is troubling, as I have to redo the work every time.

Can you please help?

Thanks,

Mauricio

Hi, I had the duplicate and erase error again. I have not tried to fix it, so you can see it. At first edit, there was only on option of field group, I entered information on all fields and saved it. Then I added more categories to the post. Then I noticed that some of the information was erased and a new group field, identical, appeared:

Can you please help?

Tks

When I wrote the message before, the group fields were all filled in, just doubled. I updated the cover on the post, and it deleted a few of the fields information from both group fields. you can see that some fields are now blank. please let me know how to fix this. thanks

Hey Mauricio,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

The post at http://www.cyclinrio.com/index.php/pt/capa/entry/mogi-das-cruzes-salesopolis-sao-paulo-rio-de-janeiro-trip is submitted into 3 categories:

- Salesópolis
- Mogi das Cruzes (has custom fields)
- São Paulo (has custom fields)

This is why the ride information is displaying twice and it is the correct behavior because EasyBlog doesn't know if these fields are the same or not. There is no way to fix this and it's just how you configure your categories.

Hi Mark, thanks for the reply. One category can only be related to one group of custom fields, correct? If so, then, if one post has 3 categories which are related to the sames exact group of fields, it should be smart to only list the group of fields once. The other problem is that it is erasing the information in the fields with the fill in text (the dropdown fields remain with content).

Is there a way to put a request so that a post com be related to more than one category and for it to only have one group of fields of each type? In other words, if there are 5 categories and 3 of them have "Group of fields A" and 2 of them have "Group of fields B", the post should have one entry of Group of fields A" and one entry "Group of fields B". By the way it is set up now, the post will 3 entries of "Group of fields A" and 2 entries of "Group of fields B", which does not make sense.

Thanks for the support.

Mauricio

Yes, 1 category can only be associated with 1 group of custom fields. Unfortunately there is no way to actually know if you want the fields to be visible or not. In your use case, this doesn't make sense of course but in most use cases it makes sense.

I would suggest you re-think your categorization. If each of your category is also asking the same fields, then your categorization doesn't make sense

You may post feature requests for EasyBlog at http://stackideas.com/voices/easyblog
