Hi,
When i add an easyblog 'custom field' to my blog and use the date/time field, it does not use the easyblog default layout as in l, d F Y g:h A , but rather uses the american style of month date year. Can i override in language files and if so which CONSTANT am i looking for? Your support mentions how to over ride the default but not custom added fields.

see picture for explanation
Hey Peter,

There was actually a bug in the way the custom fields for the date displays on the listing but this will be fixed in the next release

Hm, unfortunately it's not possible to order the blog posts by the custom date field but why don't you just alter the "creation date" if you want to order the blog post by specific dates?

Hey there,

We currently don't perform any "formatting" on the date but you can edit the file /administrator/components/com_easyblog/themes/default/fields/types/display/date.php and replace the codes below:

<i class="fa fa-calendar"></i> <?php echo $data->value;?>

With,

<i class="fa fa-calendar"></i>
<?php echo JFactory::getDate($data->value)->format(JText::_('DATE_FORMAT_LC'));?>

Ahhh got ya - sorry me not paying attention

Ok this HALF worked! It changed the date correctly in each post, BUT not in listing page, it takes the first date of the first post and applies it to all the posts but the actual posts when clicked are correct. See image

Hey Peter,

With all due respect and I hope you don't take this personally, but please:

1. This is a customization, please do not rush us. We are trying our best to help you achieve what you need for your client but this is out of good faith without charging you a single penny.

2. It's a weekend here. I believe you deserve a break, what more the team here. Again, rushing us wouldn't help as it will just slow us down from helping you.

3. The FTP access which you provided only contains the username and it doesn't contain the password

Ok being a bit cheeky here - As you seen im using the blog for blogs and also to list events. Is there a way to display the events by the 'custom date field' by date order. I dont have a clue how to impliment this and its a free community site i provide for expats in the UK.
hoping you can steer me in the right direction.
thank you Mark

Hi Arlex -
I already tried the ascending order on frontpage but that's no good for my normal blog layout which has to be descending - BUT what i was trying to achieve was on the event category/menu to make that one page only ascending so people can see the next event to come always at the top.

It only has to be the one category / menu item and not all the blog.

Found a solution using the responsive grid for easyblog by Minitek - they allow adjustment by category with ascending or descending options

Hi Mark -

i updated my site to latest version and hey ho - the custom date mentioned at the top of this post is broken again. I will have to implement the changes again but what can I do to make it permanent whenever the site is updated?
