Hello Guys,

Happy new year!

Is it possible to create a custom field in ES profile which will have tag feature? For example, consider a custom field named "Interest". When I add "basketball" in it, it will create a tag or it will bring an existing tag. So when some other user click "basketball" in Interest field, all users will come up which have defined their interest as "basketball".

This is already possible in ES? How can I do that?

Best regards,
Hi,

Currently it is not possible. The nearest available option to this is the checkbox field currently.

We will see if we can add this in the future.

Hello Jason,

I couldn't follow recent developments. Is this feature available now?

Hi,

I'm sorry but not yet. We will see if we can manage to include this in 1.3.

Would this tagging system use Joomla's tagging system? Hashtags? I could see how either one is beneficial in a custom field. I admit I'm a bit torn on the issue of tags vs hashtags. Hashtags are cool because they are easy to add, however the hash symbol doesn't look as clean for display. Perhaps this idea is radical, but it would be interesting to use a hashtag that gets created as we expect, but displays without the hash symbol. Just thinking out loud to raise awareness to tags vs hashtags.

Hello Josh,

To be honest, we haven't really started on this yet but we'll discuss this internally

I know, this is why I posted now so that some concerns/ideas are put into consideration as this is thought upon. From my understanding generally when an idea is accepted/considered good, if it has not been implemented months later, odds are that it has not been worked on. That's not to say the Stacked team will not get to it at the right time.
