Hello,

The same page for 'Dashboard Overview' is returned for 'Create Category' selection even though both are assigned to menu items appropriately?

Best regards,
Imran
Hi Imran,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

That was strange, because I tested in my locally, it seems work fine to me.

Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can better have a look?

Hello,

But both, the Overview & Create Category, appear to be loading the same (Statistics) page on my site?

The screenshot in your post as well show 'Statistics'!

Imran

Hi Arlex,

No, sorry, the issue arises when creating a menu item for creating 'New Category'. The menu item loads the 'Statistics' page.

Not sure as to why the site is going into the redirect loop? Kindly, have it checked while on site bcz from my end it's loading front end fine?

BTW, I disabled the en-US language earlier, kindly try by having your browser cache cleared?

Best regards,
Imran

Hello Imran,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

We are still unable to access your site due to the redirection loop issue. Perhaps because of different geography between your place and our place here in Malaysia. By the way I've tried to replicate the issue in my local instance by creating a menu item for dashboard category and everything seems to working fine here from my end. Check my video link below.

Hello Ezrul,

Please try the site now?

Apparently, the Redirector plugin misconfiguration was causing this earlier.

Sorry, the menu item was for creating new category "(Dashboard) Create Category" not categories dashboard one.

Best regards,
Imran

I still encounter the redirection loop issue. However, I can access your Joomla backend and even if i turn off your System - Redirect plugin, I still hit the redirection loop issue.

Can you please advise?

Hope this help and have a nice day!

Sorry for late reply to this,

Yes, I've tried to access in your frontpage, it still show redirection loop.

Perhaps you can consult with your Webhosting provider regarding this?

Hi Arlex,

I think, based on the consultation with the host, it's probably because of the 'Nameservers' propagation wait time of the site.

The Nameserver change was made only recently roughly just over 24 hours ago & usually may take further 24 hours before everyone is pointed to the right servers. As some of the users were not having redirector loop problem. Kindly, try again tomorrow by first clearing the cookies & browsing data from your end.

Best regards,
Imran

Hi Imran,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply and thanks for fixing the redirection issue. Now i can access to your site without issues

Anyway, regarding your create category issue, look like there are some left over files from your EasyBlog 3.9. The 'create category' layout no longer used in EasyBlog 5. I've removed those outdated files from your folder 'JOOMLA/components/com_easyblog/views/dashboard/tmpl'. Also, I've unpublished your 'create category' menu item as this layout no longer exists. In EasyBlog 5.0.x, we now use 'popup' dialog for creating new category. Please see:

Hope this help and have a nice day!

Hell Sam,

Thanks for that!

It seems that the 'My Profile' or logged in user's own profile for EB5 does not exists? I created a menu item for 'Edit Profile' but unable to find any for creating menu item for displaying users profile page on EB5?

Best regards,
Imran

Hello Yasser,

Could this be included in the next update as well? Currently, we only have 'Edit Profile' in the EB5 menu manager.

Imran

Unfortunately we didn't have this plan yet, do you mean that when user logged in on your site, you would like to show the current logged in user blogger page? Check my screenshot below.

Hello Arlex,

Yes, just like ES social profile, I think having logged in users 'My Blog Profile' page with users details, blog posts & activities with hyperlink or button to 'Edit Profile'.

We currently have the "(Authors) Single Author" menu item which displays blog posts of selected 'Author', not for the logged in author & does not display all of the fields that are available in the 'Edit Author Profile'.

Secondly, I would like to know about the 'Standalone Author Mode' how could it best be used since we have to select an author manually? Is it to create a permalink for the user's blog page / section?

I have also defined permalink for an 'Author' but how do I access author's blog page using the permalink since when I enter site URL + permalink a blank page is displayed?

Best regards,
Imran

Hi Imran,

I am sorry for the late reply.

Yes I believe it would be an awesome ideas to have a profile layout for EasyBlog just like EasySocial of the current logged in user. Unfortunately, we didn't have plan yet to add this but I will extends this request to our developers.

Regarding your second inquiry, I am not sure what do you trying to achieve here. I believe Single Author layout is designed to display like that. However, you still can customize the code to achieve what you're trying to get.

Regarding the Standalone Author Mode, it allows filtering of posts and other items by specific author only. This is pretty similar to having a virtual blog for each user on the site. This means that only blogpost from this specific user will be displayed when you accessing this menu.

Regarding your next question, I cannot understand you well about the permalink. Perhaps you can provide us the site URL + permalink in which you tried to access? So that we can try replicate this issue on your site and have a better understanding of the issue.

I am sorry for the inconvenience and please advise.

Hello Yasser,

Lets say:

I created a menu item alias 'XYZ' with the 'Single Author Layout' and selected author 'XYZ'

Clicked the menu item XYZ from the front end, I got all the blogs published by the author 'XYZ' only

Now I changed the menu item 'XYZ' to work as 'Standalone Author Mode' by enabling it from the back end.

I got the same result as in #2 above. So what is the difference between with or without Standalone Author mode since we get the same page with same results?

Anyway, I think, if we have updated documentation or demo for the new features that might save us all some time.

The permalinks are working fine. It was my mistake earlier, wrong URL / path.

Best regards,
Imran

Oh, it removed the numeric bullet points from the post, here it is again:

Lets say:

(1) I created a menu item alias 'XYZ' with the 'Single Author Layout' and selected author 'XYZ'

(2) Clicked the menu item XYZ from the front end, I got all the blogs published by the author 'XYZ' only

(3) Now I changed the menu item 'XYZ' to work as 'Standalone Author Mode' by enabling it from the back end.

(4) I got the same result as in #2 above. So what is the difference between with or without Standalone Author mode since we get the same page with same results?

Anyway, I think, if we have updated documentation or demo for the new features that might save us all some time.

The permalinks are working fine. It was my mistake earlier, wrong URL / path.

Hi Imran,

I am sorry for the late reply,

There is a different between with standalone author mode or without. If this setting is turned on, all blogpost including the modules are displaying blogs from the specific user. Whereas if turn off the setting, only EasyBlog listing are from the specific user.

Hope I have explained it well and I am sorry about the incomplete documentation. We will try update it in the near time.
Have a nice day.
