Hey Hey client has asked me to remove a couple of things from Easydiscuss and i'm trying to figure out how. Below what my clients asked from me:


Remove emoticons from editor
Remove 'Code' from editor
Remove "Select post type”
Why are tags in reverse chronological order, make normal order
Remove user ranking bar - I have turned this off but it is still here
Edits to published posts as admin are being moderated and post unpublished
Need silent edit option as moderator edits are being shown in newsfeed


sorry for the long list but didn't want to creat a subject for each.

Any help would be must appriciate

Your a boss thanks, would you be able to explain what you do so that if the do it again in future as i'm guessing updates will override the edits.

I've white listed you,

It seems that if an admin edits a post that is already published (admin i mean like moderator and stuff) then it goes back throu moderation and is unpublished from the site for a strange reason.

For the silent edit, it means not showing that the information was edited, so that the modertor can edit it with-out it being republished on the activity stream for example

Alex, are you using EasyDiscuss for your forum? If so any chance you would share how you were able to set it up to look the way it does? I have been struggling with that since I started with ED.

Hey Hey, Just simple Css Overrides, my template has a js_custom.css file its gets loaded before the other css, so i do a Inspect element with firebug playaround with the css in the browser copy pas to the Overrides

I'm sorry but there is no simply way reset the counter. However, I've modified a file for you to try. Do backup your database in case this goes wrong.

Can you replace the attached file in:
../administrator/components/com_easydiscuss/easydiscuss.php
../components/com_easydiscuss/models/posts.php

And run this URL:
http://www.yoursite.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_easydiscuss&clear=1
Change the yoursite.com to your domain name.

Do backup the original files before replacing and replace back the original after this process.

If it doesn't work, you can provide us your backend and FTP so we can perform this steps it for you.

Hey mate your a boss thanks, So its worked for Admins and Moderators but for nomal users its still displays as new. 2250

Sorry for the late reply. What I did previously was fixing in this file which you can download and replace it in your site: ../components/com_easydiscuss/controllers/posts.php. Hope this helps.
