Hi

I am having trouble uploading a blog from Blogsy to Easyblog. This has been working fine, but haven't added a post for a while. I updated Blogsy because it was crashing when I tried to upload a blog. Since then it successfully posts the blog to Easyblog, but it seems to corrupt the HTML in the process. HTML original and modified follows.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
<p>I've been trying to get to <a href="http://www.singleton.nsw.gov.au/Index.aspx?NID=139"; target="_blank" title="">Lake St Clair</a> for a long time. Glenbawn has been a favourite destination for many years with it's excellent camping and good fishing options. Finally got out there for the October long weekend. We didn't do too well on the fishing front, but we did see some nice bass caught from the bank in the campground on worms! Daniel kept us rom getting a group donut by catching a couple of kilos of catfish.</p>

<p> Here is a photo of him putting the finishing touches to it. </p>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: none;"><a href="http://www.macman.id.au/images/easyblog_images/62/Photo-20141009180436.jpg" target="_blank" style=""><img src="http://www.macman.id.au/images/easyblog_images/62/Photo-20141009180436.jpg" id="blogsy-1412846025480.8984" class="alignnone" alt="" width="300" height="200"></a></div>

<p>I've been trying to get to <a class="easyblog-thumb-preview" href="http://www.singleton.nsw.gov.au/Index.aspx?NID=139";><img src="http://www.macman.id.au/images/easyblog_images/62/Photo-20141009180436.jpg" id="blogsy-1412846252839.0464" class="alignnone" alt="" width="300" height="200"></a></div>

This behaviour is reproducible and seems to occur whenever I use a link of the type specified.
Any ideas of what I should try next. I have used links of this type before without any problems, is it a Blogsy issue or an Easyblog issue ?

Regards Matt
Hi Support,

This now appears to be fixed and the blogsy image problem worked around. I still have the problem of posts not publishing, they pick up some weird publish date, but I can live with it. I have asked for it to be fixed before and it was fixed for a short time before reverting behaviour. Thanks for all your help in resolving this

Regards
Matt McHugh

Hello Matt McHugh,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,
Can you try put a sample code in your new blog post (publish from the website creation page) so that we can try reproduce this from Ipad?
If you publish a blog post from blogsy, can i see what is that result interface?
Because I will test this when I get the Ipad in my hand.

Arlex,

What I have done.

copied the HTML from article "Lake St Clair Camping and Fishing Oct Long Weekend" on my Ipad in Blogsy and emailed it to my PC. Then pasted the HTML directly into the article "Matt's test post directly in the Easyblog Web interface"
Then I uploaded from Blogsy to the website.

If you check the two blog entries in Easyblog on my site ( article 1 and 3) , you will see what is happening

Any chance of an update on this ? One of the attractions of easyblog for me was the easy integration with Blogsy and the ability to blog from Ipad. At the moment I am having trouble with all blogging from Blogsy via the Ipad to Easyblog. The original problem was with links, so I tried to post an article without links. I posted an article with 4 different images, but when it uploads it only refernces the first image and repeats the image 4 times.

Regards

Matt

hello Matt McHugh,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,
To clarify again with your current 2 issues:
#1. When you publish a blog post with a link, then the HTML messed up.
#2. Do you mean that when you trying to upload 4 different images then it repeat the image? Is it this blog post are you mentioned? Check my screenshot below.

Yes that is the blog post, but I manually repeated it in easyblog&controller directly in Joomla after ftping the files directly.

Hello Matt McHugh,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,
I have tried to configure your site details in my blogsy apps, it seems like not working.
By the way, I have test in my locally, I can replicate this issues If i post 3 image, then it show in Easyblog only 1 image, another 2 image is same as the first image. I'm still investigate on this.

Regarding with your first issues :
>> Is it highlight the word and configure the link? Check my screenshot below.
>> Because it seems like work fine for me. Maybe i missing something here. Please advise.

The problem is when the link is BEFORE the image. If the link follows the image it's all OK.

I will set up live writer and do some tests myself. I will also test the link issue. I was having trouble getting live writer set up , gives me an error 407. This is getting more and more painful.

Hello Matt McHugh,

I'm really sorry that made you felt trouble with this

We will try our best to assist you with this, after debugging long time ago, it seems like the blogsy always get the same name of the photo when doing each time ajax request. So it will show the same image with this, this issues only happening post via blogsy

Can you try download my attachment file and replace in this file and see how it goes?
What we did is include the code to define the minute and second in the file name when blogsy upload the image to server.
JoomlaFolder\components\com_easyblog\controllers\xmlrpc.php

If you would like to test in Windows live writer, you can follow our documentation, hope this help.
-> http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/how-tos/setting-up-windows-live-writer
Summary :

Web address of your blog : http://yourdomain.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&controller=xmlrpc
Username : your username
Password : your userpassword
select provider : metaWebBlog or Wordpress 2.2+
Remote posting web address for your blog : http://yourdomain.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&controller=xmlrpc
Almost end of the step part you need to select "NO" option.

OK I have done two posts from Live writer as you can see. The first is one with a link BEFORE text and an image. For some reason the image is the only thing that gets published, this is clearly easily reproducible. The second post in the blog is multiple images, and works as expected. IE the multiple post issue is only evident from Blogsy.
Not sure what you want me to do with the php file, ftp it to my site ?

I have an attachment, you can see what I posted and the results.

hello Matt McHugh,

Sorry for late reply to this, I have help you replace the fix file in JoomlaFolder\components\com_easyblog\controllers\xmlrpc.php
So you can post multiple image file from your blogsy now.

Regarding the link issues :
>> Actually I'm still not get you here, because I have tried to post a test post including the link, it seems like work fine for me, when i click on that link it will open a new window and access the URL what i configure before. Check my screenshot below.

Please understand me, I have said this a number of times, the link MUST be BEFORE the images, ie preceding, come in front of, like in the attachment I sent you.
Matt.

Hi Arlex,

I will test this when I get access to the iPad again. The guys at blogsy found the multiple image bug, due to change in apple handling of time stamps.they will fix in next release.

Thanks
