Hey guys, I am loving the latest improvements of speed and I was pleased to see YooTheme fixes in todays release of ES.

As you guys know, I created a very popular Voice entry about adding a chat feature. I notice that despite the veery high demand, you guys seem to have chosen getting TechJoomla to do a chat integration with Jbolo instead. While I look forward to seeing what they do in terms of merging chat and conversations, and offering hosted in the future... I am still very concerned. As a subscriber of some of their products, I gotta say they are not nearly as refined as Stackideas products. I am aware that they are trying to improve things, and I am veery excited about the EasySocial Mobile app they are developing, I will most likely be buying the version I can add my own logo and branding to.

Anyhow, I am getting besides the point.... as I am realizing that you guys aren't going to be adding a chat feature, at least not anytime soon. I was hoping you would consider revamping the conversations feature.

On my beta site, the few registered users are using conversations a lot! More so than any other site feature. Even on mobile they are using it a lot.... now I was hoping to see a few changes to make it a much better experience... here are my suggestions:

1. Make it fully ajax based and make replies instant, as if it were a chat.

2. Include a: [name] is typing... message in the bottom of the screen

3. Include a: [name] has read your message.

4. Make it so e-mails only send if the receiver of a message is offline. No point in sending a bunch of e-mails for an ongoing conversation. This isn't e-mail where you take forever to reply, this is CONVERSATIONS messages go back and forth on a much faster rate and spamming e-mail on every message is pointless.
Thanks for the heads up on this Jannik

You are very welcome :-)
I really think that these features would be a good compromise for not adding native chat to ES. It would make the built in Conversations feature very attractive and usable. I hope that you and your team take it into serious consideration, because right now I would say aside from the challenge of creating a unified experience across the three main Stackideas products, I would say conversations would be my biggest complaint in terms of usability of EasySocial.

That would make me the happiest Stackideas subscriber in history, the moment that Conversations gets refined I will feel comfortable launching my site, especially considering Events is scheduled for 1.3

What is the current ETA for 1.4? The roadmap says you are aiming for August, is that realistic? If so it would be perfect timing for me, considering I am aiming for a "Back to School" launch
