Note!
Where we are it is now the weekend; so there might be a slight delay in our reply. Thanks for understanding!Comment plugin behavior

Functionality of the Comment plugin? I understand that in addition to adding a "comment" function to each article, the system copies each article to a new Discussion. I would like the option to NOT perform this automated copy, and instead only add discussions as new comments are added to articles.

Hello Scott,
Thanks for the heads up but the behavior for the plugin is that it will get generated when someone views the article or the front page.
The reason behind this is because those like buttons and ratings that you see on the article when viewing it, will actually need a unique id that is linked to the discussion. There is no way to only generate this upon a new comment.
By the way, is there still issues with the new discussions being added as a response to the articles on your site?-
OK. By 'like buttons' you mean the heart above the comment area?
Or are you implementing the SocMed sharing buttons for articles (like what appears in the discussions), and I just don't have that update yet?
And... the automated creation of dicsussions is no longer happening (THANKS!)
However... take a look at this comment that is generated by the process and notice the ugly HTML code that appears at the beginning and end.

Hello Scott,
Sorry for the delays, I missed this comment :( Strange, HTML codes were supposed to be converted into bbcode. Can you try deleting the discussion and view the article again and see if it get's re-created correctly?

OK. I deleted all 100+ (still seems like a large number of items with this site being unpublished).
I opened this article http://ec-bp.org/ecbp2012/index.php/articles/industry-updates/70-the-best-of-ec-bp-2011
and got the discussion you see - with the html code included
Checking the discussion list I saw 2 instances of the same comment. I then opened the article again and saw 5 discussions for the same article:
um Title Featured Published Hits User Replies Date ID
1 The Best of ec-bp 2011 0 Scott Koegler 0 2011-12-06 05:00:00 238
2 The Best of ec-bp 2011 0 Scott Koegler 0 2011-12-06 05:00:00 237
3 The Best of ec-bp 2011 0 Scott Koegler 0 2011-12-06 05:00:00 236
4 The Best of ec-bp 2011 0 Scott Koegler 0 2011-12-06 05:00:00 235
5 The Best of ec-bp 2011
Opened the article again and then there were 8 duplicate discussion items:
Num Title Featured Published Hits User Replies Date ID

8 The Best of ec-bp 2011 0 Scott Koegler 0 2011-12-06 05:00:00 234
so obviously still some very strange behavior here.

You can see the duplicates from the front end as well:

I see that the 'readmore' html code is replaced and now appears as a link. However the image at the head of the article still shows html (see http://ec-bp.org/ecbp2012/index.php/discussions/edi-going-mobile)
Also - I just clicked on the article above then checked the Discussions. I see 2 new discussions created from that click:
Num Title Featured Published Hits User Replies Date ID
1 EDI Going Mobile 1 Scott Koegler 0 2011-10-07 17:05:15 19
2 EDI Going Mobile 0 Scott Koegler 0 2011-10-07 17:05:15 18
Clicking the article a second time did NOT produce additional discussion items, which is different from previous experience.
Also, I see there is a new version of the component. Should I update?
"Your current version 2.0.3511 is outdated. The latest version of EasyDiscuss is 2.0.3537"
Thanks

Installed the new version. Deleted all discussions
Refreshed the front end
Immediately saw Discussions created for each article displayed on the front page.
Opened this article (http://ec-bp.org/ecbp2012/index.php/articles/industry-updates/80-cheetah-your-pmo)
there are 7 responses autocreated below it (very strange) and each is actually the intro from another article.
The Readmore is formatted properly
The intro image is HTML code.
(I hate giving bad news)
