I love the tag Cloud Module, but find it immensely frustrating that I can't use it on my site, as I have a private blog and a public blog. I need to have the clouds with different tags.

I was surprised that the cloud module can't filter on category. Is there a workaround, even with a bit of custom code?
Hello Robert,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I am really sorry but I am afraid there's no way to actually filter this unless we hack the module file very massively

We'll see if we can try to include this in the future versions of EasyBlog Perhaps you should post a feature request for EasyBlog at http://stackideas.com/voices/easyblog

Actually, a workround, which I would have thought would be simpler, would be to allow inclusion and exclusion of some tags on a module level basis. There are certain tags that will only be private and others which will only be public. It's a pain to have to keep track, but we could make it work.

Hello Robert,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Hm, yeah in a way that would be one of the more simpler (less tedious approach) and probably only needs a couple of lines of codes to get this to work. Perhaps if you can provide us with the FTP access and I'll add this in for you quickly?

Hello Robert,

If you see the form below, there's a "Site Details" tab which allows you to insert your site details.

Strange, maybe I pasted it wrong. It's working for me when I use these details.

I have entered the details again.

Hello Robbert,

I've added the hack in your file. Please have a look in the module setting: http://screencast.com/t/y7gn5fbUKbS . Hope this helps.

Great, thanks! I'll have a play. The other field to have would be "allow only". For example, I have tags for importance of a blog. If I could limit to just those, I could use the tags like a structured field and easily only show the relevant ones.

I added the tags that I wanted to exclude (using comma separation, is that correct?)

I got this error

Great, thanks. That allows me to do a number of really useful things :-)

(ps - a category on the tags would make it easier to administer, but I'm not greedy )

Great support from Easyblog!!

Was this done as an override for the cloud tag module? If so, where would I find the modified code? (I have had to rebuild the site, for various reasons)

Hello Robert,

Please replace the attached files to reapply the hack.

../components/com_easyblog/models/tags.php
../modules/mod_easyblogtagcloud/helper.php
/modules/mod_easyblogtagcloud/mod_easyblogtagcloud.xml

Hope this helps.
