When on a user profile, try to click on the Profile Cover, it will popup the Image viewer with a message:

You are trying to view or Edit a restricted photo.
Sorry, but you do not have the permission to view or edit this photo.

And you will see the User Header on top of that message.

Question, isn't it Avatar and Profile Cover are Public photos regardless of User settings? It doesn't make sense that a user can click on Profile Cover or Avatar just to tell them they don't have permission to view or edit this photo.

I think its not a good UXD, useless extra function and useless for users since it's not functional.
Hello Jackson,

Hm, yeah you are right! I think photo cover and picture albums should always be visible regardless of their privacy settings since it is already viewable on the profile. This will be fixed on the next release.

Hi Arlex,

Are you login as "sisupport?" If you are, then yes, you can because you own the Profile. Try to view my Profile and click on my Profile Cover and you will see what I meant.

Thank you.

Hi Arlex,

Hmmm... I get the same result if I'm logged in as me since I am Super User. You have other test accounts that you created as regular users, please use that to login and try it again.

I just tested it with my regular user test account.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hello Jackson,

Sorry for late reply to this,
I have checked in your profile type privacy setting, it seems like you set only the user friend have the permission to view their profile except Super User.
If you would like your profile viewable for the unfriend user, so you have to set to "Registered user" from your privacy setting.

Hi Mark,

Yes, I thought that was the default behavior with User Avatar and User Profile Cover, since like what my friend told me (we're talking about FB privacy), it is social, you cannot lock your Avatar, Profile Cover, and your Name. That's the only info that should be made available without privacy setting so anyone will be able to see you, else, don't create an account

In ES case, since ES is awesome for adding Lock Down Mode. That setting should still apply to User Avatar, Profile Cover, and Name.

Thanks again Mark,

Jackson
