Hi,

How do I change the text in the "Ask a Question" element at the top of the Easy Discuss pages?

TIA - Jeff.
Hello Jeff,

You might want to go to this file: ../language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easydiscuss.ini and search for this string COM_EASYDISCUSS_OR_ASK_A_QUESTION to change the translation.

Perfect again Nick! Thanks.

Can I also change the default text in the Search box to the left of the "or Ask a Question" element?

Hello Jeff,

Yes you can. Use the same file as stated above and search for this string: COM_EASYDISCUSS_SEARCH_PLACEHOLDER.

Thanks Nick. That works fine.

Just wondering... Is there some way to eliminate the Search box entirely - (but keep the "or Ask a Question" element)?

Hello Jeff,

Can you put this css code override in your current Joomla template and see if this resolved your issue.

#discuss-wrapper .discuss-searchbar--input{
display:none !important;
}

Hope this will help.
Thanks.

Thanks Mohd. That works fine!

Now, can I also shift the "or Ask a Question" element over to align at the LEFT side of the page?

Best Regards,

Jeff.

Hello Jeff Suddaby,

Sorry for late reply to this,
I believed you already replaced the ask module to original "ask a question" button right?

Hi Arlex,

Yes, I replaced the text in the "or Ask a question" element in the body of Easy Discuss.

HOWEVER, I then downloaded the Easy Discuss modules from your page: http://stackideas.com/downloads/modules

I am now using the downloaded module "Ask a question" to trigger the "new post" action for the user.

It is the text in this new download module that I am trying to change.

Please see the page at: http://whazzat.org/forum.html The text I want to change is in the big green "Ask a question" button at the top of the right sidebar (which is created by the "Ask a question" module I downloaded from your site.

TIA - Jeff.
