Hello,

We are just looking at the remote mailposting for easyblog and have it working ok. We are looking for users to be allowed to post into categories via email? Is this possible? We can only see a default category but cannot see any info about setting a category with shortcode for instance.

Many thanks
Tony
Hello Stephen,

That's really poor and almost pointless of having a mail importer for more than 1 person :-(.

Are there any plugin hooks where I can intercept the post before it's added to run some checks/changes?

Many thanks
Tony

Hi there,

That's really poor and almost pointless of having a mail importer for more than 1 person :-(.

I am a bit lost here. Can you describe us what did you by having a mail importer for more than 1 person? Thanks for understanding.

Are there any plugin hooks where I can intercept the post before it's added to run some checks/changes?

Honestly, we don't know whether there are any plugin hook for interception of the post before it's added.

We can only see a default category but cannot see any info about setting a category with shortcode for instance.

You can change which category that you desired at Backend>Components>EasyBlog>Settings>Mailbox Posting>Publishing Options as shown http://screencast.com/t/KJTB4z8oaj6 but, unfortunately you just can set one category only.

Regards

So you don't really have an understanding how your current importer works?

You have a single mailbox which other users email. The posts are assigned to the Authors by the from address.

So let's say I am wanting to write a blog post about some technical news and want it assigned to the technical category or say I want to assign it to a promotions category. We can't do any of that because you only allow posting to one category.

I'll have to look into your core myself then.

Hey Stephen,

I believe your sentence is quite confusing when I read the way you wrote `having a mail importer for more than 1 person`, I assume that you are trying to mention mail importer for more than 1 category?

By the way, currently that was not possible to show blog category from the mail client e.g. gmail to let user to select what category they want to post to. Unless these mail provider have provide some API regarding this.
