Hi,
Users are complaining because my site is not working properly -- most likely because I'm not yet updated to EasySocial 1.4.1. I just renewed my EasySocial license. After that, the automatic "Update via Network" does NOT work - it "successfully" goes through the update process, and then I'm left with the old ES version (1.3 something).

One time, I got a message that said I needed to download the new launcher from the EasySocial site. So, I did that - I downloaded the 1.4.1 zip file. Please note - I'm NOT a web developer, so I don't know tech stuff! The most I know what to do with that zip file is go to Extensions > Manage > Upload Package File. Then I "choose file" and choose the 1.4.1 zip file, and then press "Upload & Install." This used to work for me in the past. This time I got the following screenshot error (see attachment).

Please help me! I pay every 6 months for EasySocial, but I'm not a web developer, so please explain to me step by step how to fix this issue!
Best,
Kelly
hey Kelly,

Thanks for getting back to us you already success to updated to 1.4.2 version.

Actually I am not really sure what you need to change from the Akeeba settings, it seems like you already can update successfully update via network method, then it should be work fine.

May i know do you still any issue when you updated to 1.4.2? If yes, keep us updated then.

Hey Kelly,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I suspect that was because of your Akeeba or Admin tool misconfiguration restrict user upload more than 1M installer file zip, so causing this error when you trying to update.

By the way, I have temporary disable this 2 component in your site before I update Easysocial in your site, it work fine.

After I installed completed, so I turn it on back 2 component in your site, can you give it a check Easysocial after updated, is it work fine now?

Hi Arlex,
I don't understand your reply completely (sorry, my technical knowledge is very limited!) -- however, I see that you updated my software to 1.4.1 - THANK YOU! And, the good news is that I just successfully updated it to 1.4.2 -- and I was able to do that the easy way (using "Update via Network"). Is there anything I need to change in my Akeeba settings so that this doesn't happen in the future? Please let me know -- updating via the network is really easy, and I love being able to do it that way.

Best,
Kelly
