For a long time I have had a problem with printing EasyBlog articles. The problem is that when I try to print an EasyBlog article the page is blank.

I just requested the staff at Stackideas to fix this problem - and they did! Kudos to them.

But I just upgraded to the latest version of EasyBlog (5.23) and I can no longer print an EasyBlog article.

This is becoming tiresome.

I should not have these types of problems..........

Here is what I want you to do.

FIX THE PROBLEM.

TELL ME EXACTLY HOW YOU FIX THE PROBLEM SO THAT I CAN APPLY THE FIX AFTER EACH UPGRADE.

I am really regretting purchasing my upgrade to EasyBlog5. I think that close to the end of my subscription I will have to stop renewals and upgrades. Because every time I upgrade I am plagued with new problems.

Frustrated
Hi renejdm,

I just updated to 5.23 and am able to print EB blogs. Are you still getting the blank screen, or another error?

Hi Justin,

Why am I the only one getting this error? It happens on completely different templates and frameworks.

I have included a link so you can see this yourself.

Hi renejdm,

I don't see a link in your last reply.

That is strange - the print window starts to populate with the blog's content but never fully loads. I wonder if it's related to a server/php setting?

@ renejdm

I clicked on your link and the print button for the blog, the following details were printed:

Blog Title, Date, Author, Category and all tags.

Nothing else.

I clicked on the print button for a blog on my own site and the following details were printed:

Blog Title, Date, Author, Category, all tags and content of blog.

No cover image (perhaps print option is text only, not sure)

I am using a Joomlart Uber template, the Nickel theme and (as are you) latest version of EB5 (5.0.23), you may be using a different theme and template but it should not matter.

We all seem to be getting different results but as the print button does work on my blog perhaps the issue is a conflict with other software?

I am sure SI will get it sorted.

Hi,

Here is the link to this problem that I just posted on this forum not too long ago: http://stackideas.com/forums/how-do-you-turn-on-blog-printing

You will notice that the problem was solved. However, the solution did not last past the first update (from 5.22 to 5.23). I would like to know exactly what was done to fix this problem. Then when the problem happens again (as it undoubtedly will) I can fix it immediately without having to constantly go on these forums and repeat myself. I should think that Stackideas would want to decrease their support calls.

I hope that you can understand my frustration.

Hey renejdm,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

It seems like my colleague forget to push the fix in this latest version.

By the way, I already applied the fix in this file again ->JoomlaFolder\components\com_easyblog\themes\wireframe\blogs\entry\default.print.php and committed in our repo.

Can you give it a try and see how it goes?

Thanks Arlex. It is working correctly now. I just hope your fix will survive the next update.
