Hey,
I have a problem with deleting a discussion. when I am trying to delete it shows:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '&&' (T_BOOLEAN_AND) in /home/incircl/domains/uniqpeople.com/public_html/plugins/finder/easydiscuss/easydiscuss.php on line 83

Any ideas?
Ezrul,

Thank you for offering support and apologies for the late response. We actually narrowed this down to something that is more than likely very specific to our installation.

We have a Smart Ajax Search component installed and in use on our site. The issue was arising from enabling both the EasyDiscuss Search and the EasyDiscuss Smart Search. Once we disabled the Smart Search component we were able to perform the normal tasks (as well as EasyDiscuss being properly pulled into search results) without blank screens and errors.

This may help anyone else who uses customized 3rdParty Ajax Smart Search components.

hey gedas,
can you let us know which discussion you wanted to delete? also where did you try to delete it and hit that error - on the frontend or in the backend?
please let us know so we can look into it.

Hopefully this doesn't really need a new thread as I see a tremendous amount of relevance to this quandary. So, here it goes...

I too am receiving this error.

I traced it to the EasyDiscuss Search Plugin. Once disabling the Search and Smart Search Plugins.. the error goes away.

Furthermore, I was having issues saving standard Joomla Articles. Upon saving it would produce a plain white screen and wouldn't save the article. On page refresh it showed the article as not saved and needing to be checked in.

Hopefully we can find a way around this as we need to be able to search easydiscuss discussions for our support and knowledgebase sections of our company site.

All articles are being managed via the backend.

Question:

Should only one of the Search plugins be enabled? i.e; Search and/or Smart Search?
Is there a specific ordering? i.e; Should the Search Plugins be fired last?

Here's some specifics on my usage:

Joomla! 3.3.6
PHP 5.4
LiteSpeed on CentOS (Should have no effect on anything.. but it's info)
EasyDiscuss is up-to-date
Komento as Comment Form only integrated into Joomla! Articles - Also up-to-date (not sure this would have any effect)
Smart Search is used via an AJAX Search Component (so far there are no conflicts.. thus, I assume this has no effect)

Any further discussion would be awesome!

Rock on SI ... and hope to hear some solutions soon!

Regards,
Jason

Hello Gedas,

We are unable to replicate the issue from your site. When I created a new discussion and delete it from both backend and frontend the error message is not appearing. Check my screenshot below.
http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-02-18_1413.png - backend
http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-02-18_1416.png - frontend

Am I missing something here? Please advise.

@Jason,

Perhaps you can provide us with joomla backend and FTP access so we can have a better look on your problem?

Please advise.
