Has there been any discussion of moving away from BB and adopting WYISWYG? Actually, for me its less about WYSIWIG because I like having NO editor. The only issue is with quoting someone, you have to deal with "

" which isn't very elegant.
hey marco,
I think there's no discussion about moving away from bb and adopting wysiwyg at all because you can already choose what kind of editor (or also no editor) you want to use
check your easydiscuss backend -> settings -> layout -> general and in the box "editing" you'll find these options.

hope that helps

Thanks for sharing Alex I would recommend using "bbcode" over WYSIWYG editor at any time

Yep first thing I did was turn off all the BB and editor stuff. The only issue is that I'm pretty sure BB code is the only way that quote's work. So if you want to quote someone's reply in easydiscuss, it's done with BB. I have no problem with it, its just that the communities I am developing are very tech UNsavvy and it confuses them.

Mark just out of curiosity, why would you recommend BB over WYSIWYG? I've never liked the editors until the Bootstrap WYSIHTML5 editor, simple but elegant. However, I dont think any of that is needed for comments and discussion. It's all overkill. Is your preference have to do with performance?

Hello Marco,

As long as WYSIWYG editor is involved, there's loads of javascript being processed because WYSIWYG is supposed to help you construct your content and it just adds too much weight on a normal forum / comment system. It makes sense if you are into authoring like EasyBlog but never a forum system
