Hello:

I have a couple of basic "Functions" questions about Easy Blog that was just installed into out website today. Please detail as much as possible and if I have a further question I will get right back to you in this thread immediately — Thanks for you time and please let me know on these.

BLOG
http://www.doceremedspa.com/blog

1: The Pad Lock in the black tool bar (in the Blog of course), when you tap on it the dialogue comes up to enter username and password IN this dialog their is the "Register" Button, when I tap on that I go to registart as a FIRST TIME new user but it says "Warning, Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet." — Where does a brand new user register then?????

2: From the Administration section as you can see I have a Public Post by (Posted by Kariann Helms) I posted that internally obviously, any public user can comment on this of course, where does a public user start their own post for the first time without needing to answer a post by a moderator Admin person first?

3: At the top in the SUB line it says (Posted by Kariann Helms on Tuesday, 24 June 2014 in Uncategorized), where are the controls for this "Uncategorized" and why is ith ther and where can we change it?

4: We is the alert (email to) for the Moderator/Admin person so thet they get an email everytime a new public post comes in???

5: Any other "How To" tips would be much appreciated by you guys if you can comment on anything else that might be really important to know.

Thanks!!!!

Hello Lori Leonard,

When I login to your administrator site and accessing Joomla control panel, its giving me this error: http://screencast.com/t/ads6XHlzNM . I believe there are some issues with your Joomla. Since EasyBlog registration is using Joomla registration, it is advisable for you to fix this issue.

I have check your site and it seems like your Joomla didn't enable the registration. To configure this, please access Joomla > Users > User Manager > Options. Here my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/1a2CWIwpWlN . I have helps you fix this issue and now the registration site is displaying. However, since you have issues with Joomla, it is giving me this error when I tried to register: http://screencast.com/t/ychWxmwyF8u .

Please be advise.
Thanks.

Hello Lori Leonard,

Thanks for using our product.
Please find your answers below:
1. Where does a brand new user register then?
It seems like when i click the register, it is redirected to ?view=registration. Screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/SXjEvKFVlh78 . But it somehow redirected back to login. Do you have installed any 3rd party components for manage login and registration on your site. There is many possibility that can caused this issue. Can you provide us backend access and ftp access so that we can debug the issue and helps you fix this.

2. From the Administration section as you can see I have a Public Post by (Posted by Kariann Helms) I posted that internally obviously, any public user can comment on this of course, where does a public user start their own post for the first time without needing to answer a post by a moderator Admin person first?
I am sorry but I seem can't understand you well. Do you mean "public user" is a "guest user"? I believe what you meant was, how to set the guest to be able to create a blogpost? You need to allow them to be able to create a blogpost by accessing ACL. You can configure this at Joomla > Components > EasyBlog > ACL > (user group) > Write Entry = Yes.

3. At the top in the SUB line it says (Posted by Kariann Helms on Tuesday, 24 June 2014 in Uncategorized), where are the controls for this "Uncategorized" and why is ith ther and where can we change it?
This "Uncategorized" is a category in your blog. You can manage your categories in Joomla > Components > EasyBlog > Categories. Once you have create a new category, you can select it when you're posting a new blog post. You can select which category do you wish to posted in by clicking this: http://screencast.com/t/ZM8trHVLttEP .

4. We is the alert (email to) for the Moderator/Admin person so thet they get an email everytime a new public post comes in???
In order to moderate blog entry, you need to set ACL for the certain group user which you want to moderate. You can configure it here: Joomla > Components > EasyBlog > ACL > (user group) > Write Entry = Yes and Publish Entry = No. Screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/dqjIzYqxf5b . Administrator will receive the notification email by default. You want to configure this, you can access Joomla > Components > EasyBlog > Settings > Notifications > Notify admin on new entries = Yes. If you want to set notification to moderator, you need to put the moderator's email here: http://screencast.com/t/5Tk8QYzpb and set Use Custom Email as Admin Email = Yes.

5. Any other "How To" tips would be much appreciated by you guys if you can comment on anything else that might be really important to know.
If you have any question, please don't hesitate to ask us. You can send ticket here or in our priority helpdesk https://crm.stackideas.com
