Hi everyone, why is ES inserting the word "elemento" and a number to the profile, and group pages.
Is there any I can set ES up so that the profile link looks like : http://www.mypage.com/profileusername
and the group page http://www.mypage.com/groups/groupname

This what I am getting atm

As you can see, ES is adding the number 12 to my username, and then in the groups link, it's adding the word "elemento" and then also a number to the name of the group.

Regards,

Marvin Mendez
Hey Marvin,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. This is actually required because it serves as an "id" which allows us to lookup for the real item when we try to parse the SEF urls. This is actually the standard behavior on Joomla

The username URL is friendlier in ES 1.4 which is really close to being done. Without a permalink being used I can literally have site/username! No SEF extension required, just Joomla's core SEF enabled along with the simple URL option enabled.

As for group URLs, how did you get it that clean? Mine has "/item" as seen here: http://peakbeta.com/group/item/1-alpinist

We will probably enhance the groups url in the future with the same behavior applied for the simple url for profiles

I've enabled the Simple URL option on our site. In fact, when I look at my own profile, the link on my name does show a simple permalink... but it doesn't work when I go there.

https://drinkedin.net/profile/haim - that does work
https://drinkedin.net/haim - that doesn't work

Does it depend on the webserver directives (e.g. we're using nginx - maybe there's some directive we need)?

Yes - all EasySocial plugins are enabled (except the content plugin since I didn't want the author's profile at the end of blog articles).

Suggestions?

Hey Mark, could the issue be related to the ajax index.php URL option being enabled by default? Many of us (perhaps the majority) have URLs without index.php. Perhaps it could be related to how .htaccess is configured? I'm just trying to come up with ideas of what it could be.

I slide index.php button to "No" but still the same problem. getting 404 page not found. might be .htaccess need to hack. Can you please tell us what and how to modify there ?

If you haven't hacked .htaccess except for renaming the file to ".htaccess" as per Joomla's instructions for SEF URLs, then I don't really see that aspect being the cause of the issue. I personally have added .htaccess rules, hence why I was in the mindset of thinking others might have done the same.

Another idea is it being a template issue, although I doubt it.

You don't need to add/remove anything to the the .htaccess file considering that you kept the data inside of it the same. It was a silly idea on my part to bring up .htaccess in the first place. The Stacked staff have their hands full lately with the major release of ES, we should hear from them soon.

Please let us know when ES has the ability to have Group URLs similar to Profiles in 1.4.1..that would be helpful (and a lot cleaner!)

Hey Peter,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

Currently we do not have plan for this yet, we will see if we can implement this feature in the future version.
