Used settings → SEO to 'Automatically fill meta description' , but when I view the post in the back-end, their is no meta-discription and the Google snippet only displays the generic SEO.

Where can I find the documentation around this isuue.

Regards

Ian
Hello Ian,

The Automatically fill meta description is actually for viewing in the frontend. Once you have open to view an entry, Easyblog will check if this entry has a meta description. If doesn't has, Easyblog will automatically get the intro from the entry to be the meta description.

Hi Nick,

I don't understand. I have opened the individual blogs and the metadescription is empty. Does it not fill this with an automatic metadescription?

Thanks

Ian

This metadescrition does not show up on Google snippets either - we just get a generic description, which does not make sense. Do you know what part of Easyblog Google could be getting this from?

Thanks

Hello Ian,

The Meta description is generated in this file: ../components/com_easyblog/helpers/helper.php in line 3098. And if you are viewing the Page Source, this part is your Meta description: http://screen.stackideas.com/2014-11-10_1026.png . However, Can you provide us your backend and FTP access so we can have a better look on your issue here? Please advise.
