Is there a way in EasyBlog for articles that are RSS feed to be auto tagged? If not I know you geniuses can probably code it in an hour.

Thanks.

Rob
Hey Mark,

Any update on this valuable function? I was just thinking that you could possibly program EasyBlog to pull key words form a title and auto tag the blog. This way with RSS feeds the main words will be brought down to a tag and you could eliminate the if, and, the, that, words that may come across.

Example:

Samsung brings Tizen to original Gear smartwatch

Tag keywords are "Samsung" "Smartwatch" "Gear" "Tizen"

Eliminate words are "brings" "to" "original"

So possibly you could write an if or then statement to eliminate the most used words and capture the words that are relevant to the blog post. Just to give you an idea.

If blogtitle includes (if.then.or.the.words) then
delete
otherwise add (*.words)
to tags

This would be for RSS feeds that are brought into the blog by the cronfeed.

Thanks. I hope I make some sense.

Regards,
Rob

Hello Rob,

There's no way to eliminate "brings" or "original" as there is no dictionary that is available for references.

Hello Mark,

On february 10, 2012 you said "I am sorry but unfortunately this is not possible right now We could try to add this up in EasyBlog 3.5 as we're also re-working on the tags."

where are we today ?

I'm surprised by your answer. it seem that some pluggins like JoomSEF have an extension to tag easyblog entries, and in wordpress as well as Jommla there are many pluggins who automaticly tag entries.

could you, please give me the technical reasons why you say that's impossible.

Because there are no dictionary available that would assist us in scanning the contents of the feed item.

Hello Simi,

By the way, it looks like your account isn’t tied up with any subscriptions on our site. Is there any mistake on our end? Would it be possible for you to contact us at https://crm.stackideas.com and provide us with the order reference and your username so that we can fix this up for you?

Hello Henri,

I believe all this plugin does is to just extract specific keywords based on the number of occurrence but it really is not accurate at all. You really need a proper dictionary to really determine the keywords for the content.

Well, look on the bright site This might be possible with EasyBlog 5 because with EasyBlog 5 we are already using a dictionary service provided by our own servers to suggest for keywords
