Hi,

some registered users want send anonymous post and create topics as anonymous user.
Is in EasyDiscuss this option?

Thank you for your response.

Regards, Jan
Hi Jan,

By default we do not have the setting for registered user to make anonymous post. But, you can allow public user to make a post in EasyDiscuss. You can set in Joomla backend by :

1. Click Component -> EasyDiscuss -> ACL http://screencast.com/t/CWehtRMb
2. Click Public http://screencast.com/t/4RLlGgSMdJ
3. Click Yes at the Rule Set Component in which part that you want to setup. http://screencast.com/t/4RLlGgSMdJ

Finish this step you have to give permission to the public user :

1. Click Component -> EasyDiscuss -> Categories http://screencast.com/t/WkJdE40eq
2. Click Uncategories http://screencast.com/t/pJx7cZyip
3. Click Permission tab. Choose "Who can select this category when creating discussion". Then tick on the checkbox which user that you allow, and click Add to list http://screencast.com/t/YqPDVXhmKoL

Try and see how it goes

Hi Zue,

Thanks for the detailed instructions, but this does not help me On EasyDiscuss I migrated from Kunena. Like the from K2 on EasyBlog and from Jomsocial to EasySocial.

Now we have this problem. I did not know that this function will be so important (Anonymous posts and topics from registered user).

We have in discussion some sensitive topics (family problems, etc.). Many registered users wants answer anonymously or create topics anonymously. Some users want to return to the old discussion forum (Kunena) What up with that? Is there any possibility that EasyDiscuss will have this feature soon?

StackIdeas are great extensions. I am very glad that I decided for You. For current and future our projects.

Thank you for your response.

Regards, Jan

Hi Jan,

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. We’ll see what we can do for the future releases and our hands are pretty tied to our existing development right now.

By the way, please remember to assign your domain to your license to obtain for support in the future. You can do so by accessing your license area at http://stackideas.com/dashboard

Zue

Just checking in to see if any development has been done regarding forced anonymous for certain user groups/user profile. I would LOVE to see a setting for default anonymous under user profiles! For me, registered users questions are of a personal nature, and would give them more trust if all was anonymous. But for now, having the anonymous checkbox is the next best thing! Great product!

Hey Brett,

Currently we have not really anticipated such feature yet but right now we are offering the option to post questions / replies anonymously. Perhaps in the future, we could explicitly define it via the ACL.

Appreciate that anonymous posting is now supported. We evaluate to use it for a rudimentary Cricital Incidents Reporting System, hence the question if IPs etc truly are not logged - or if the identity of a post is just disguised in the frontend? Key is that even admins must be unable to track the origin of the post.

Hey Matthias,

The only way to track this is only from backend discussion post listing page who created this anonymous post.
