hi,

please add a AmazonS3 Storage Feature for Photos,Videos and Avatars in the next Easyblog Release 4.0

http://www.jomsocial.com/support/docs/item/922-setting-up-amazon-s3-feature.html

it would help to save our memory space on server and make Easyblog much quicker
Hi Mark,

Any ETA on the EasyBlog 4 release? I have over 1 gig of images on my gaming website so for me the integration with remote storage would be great .
But first I need to convert my K2 slideshows to Easyblog. Hopefully you guys will not only consider the migration of Simple Image Gallery as discussed in http://stackideas.com/forums/k2-slideshow-migration-and-more#reply-104492, but actually create that migration tool .

Thanks,
Ewoud

Hello Ewoud,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply, just got back from Joomla World Conference. Hm, to be honest with you, there's no ETA on this yet as we are currently updating all of our existing products to be compatible with Joomla 3.2 and EasySocial as well. Once we are done with that, we'll start working on EasyBlog 3.2

Hello Rene,

Yes we understand your concern. We will check this out for 4.0

Thanks!
and please check out that during transfer to Remote Store S3 Bucket our images get a "Expired Header" and a "Cache Control=max-age" header value!

Hello Rene,

We have already planned to include it in our development for EB5 means that it is already in our list of development but it might be moved to version 5.1. This is because we are focusing on our main feature which is Composer. And we want to release the most stable version of any feature we have added. Thanks for understanding.

Awesome! As long as it's on the way, I'm happy! Also would be great to add a CDN setting to re-write the S3 media URLs to a CloudFront distribution, which is faster for users and cheaper for us since it cuts down on GET requests to the S3 bucket.

Hey Brian,

Unfortunately it has been pushed off from 5.0 to 5.1 as there are just too many changes on 5.0. We are trying to ensure that 5.0 is as stable as it gets until we work on new features.

Unfortunately like Mark said above, this feature will be push to 5.1 instead as there are too many feature in 5.0 and currently we do not have any exact ETA yet on when easyblog 5.1 will be release. Thanks for understanding.

Currently our developers all focus on Easysocial 2.0, once we push out Easysocial 2.0 stable version and we will probably focus on Easyblog 5.1.

In the meantime you might want to check out JA Amazon S3: https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/ja-amazon-s3

I haven't tried it but it might be useful until SI adds remote storage features to EB.

Hi Steven,
this plugin only upload and replace the url: it doesn't save space on your webserver/hosting.

In the docs: https://www.joomlart.com/documentation/joomla-component/ja-amazon-s3-component-documentation

There is an area that says "4.4 Local File Manager". There is an option: "Option 3: Upload & Delete Local files. After uploading allowed files, delete the uploaded files from local. Be careful with this option, the files will be deleted from your site."
