Hi,

all my rss feeds are importing with the same date: 01 Jan 1970.

What might be causing this and how would I fix it?

Kind regards

Mel

Update:

I forgot to mention that under the categories where feeds are importing to, I have tried selecting different options under the Post Date settings in the Category post options, all settings still import as 01 Jan 1970
Hi Mel,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

Can you download my attachment below and place it inside your /administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/feeds/adapters/ folder and see how it goes?

This will ensure that if there are no dates inside the rss feed, it will always use the current date as publish date. Please give a try.

Hey Mel,

You need to view the date source of the RSS feed. If it isn't displaying the correct date, we can't map the correct dates.

Hi Mark,

thanks for responding. I can see the publish date in my feed, and have set my category to show Published Date but it still ignores it:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

The publish date is for the entire feed but not each feed item

Ah I see.

It is because it is not a regular rss feed (hense using feedity).

Not to worry, I will just turn the dates off. Just had a thought, I don't suppose there is a way to tell EB to use current date when there isn't one?

Hi mark,

my apologies for delay, I didn't see your response. Here is one of the rss feeds:

https://feedity.com/exportingisgreat-gov-uk/VFpbWlFR.rss

It is not as straight forward as I thought (switching off the date) as EB doesn't have a date to work with to show the latest feeds in any order, so my latest blogs module for this category never changes - as all dates are the same ).

I just wondered if there was a way to pick up either the Publish date that appears in the rss and use that, or add the date the feed was created in EasyBlog? I read somewhere that using time stamp might be a way to date rss feeds with no dates, but I wouldn't know how to apply this. I can see under the Post section for the Category there is an option to select where the date comes from - would this help?

Ezrul

THANKYOU!

That works perfectly.

One question, I am correcting the old 1970s dated posts via the database, I have changed them in the Posts table, however when i look in the posts table via backend they still show creation and published dtes as 1970s. I have gone through the tables but cannot find where the 'Date' column is within the database.

Are you able to point me?

Kind regards

Mel
p.s. will this new feature be included in future updates as sure it will help others?

Hi Mel,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

I just had a quick look on where did our EasyBlog backend is getting the date data that are being displayed in the post listings and it actually stored inside #__easyblog_revisions table under `content` column with JSON format. Refer my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/v1j7sTfQ7 . This is the original data that will be used when you want to edit the content of the blog post in the future so the data will be accurate.

I believe the best way for you to correct the date of the blog post is by deleting all the rss feeds blog post and truncate the table #__easyblog_feeds_history. After that re-run the rss feed importer so the date will correct itself afterwards.
