Hi All,

My issue/question has two parts, if you allow me to combine this here:

1) When I add the Module to EasySocial Albums, it shows all x latest albums, including the Event albums. When I create a menu item With the EasySocial >> All Albums, it only shows the albums but not the Event Albums. If that an undocumented feature or is there a way to also include the Event albums in the overview? (or at least to make that an optional selection in either direction?

2) If I have multiple albums on my profile but only want to share some albums with some people and other albums of mine with other people, is there a way to do that? Eg based menu items or on profile types or so? (not sure if groups would help here... didn't get that group concept yet.)

Thanks again for the clarification or help.

Regards,
Luc
Hi Luc,

1) It doesn't seem to work when going into the Select blog image, only when adding images into the blog entry/text.

I am sorry but currently you can only select those images that you've upload via EasyBlog media manager as the blog image when writing post

2) What would be the right way to have someone else from the same group/ACL be able to see my albums as well? Ig if I upload the albums and then my wife writes an article and would want to add a picture from my albums into the entry. WHat woul be the right/best way to make that possible? I initially thought about uploading them to shared media files, but I cant seem to add from the shared media pictures to albums, so I would have to upload them twice, which is not what I would like doing. Is there an easy way to accomplish this or to tweak it to make it that way, please?

Attached the modified version from the previous one and in this version, you will able to see the ES albums from the groups / events that you've joined. So in your case, as long your wife is in the same group as you, she will be able to see the albums you've created for the group and add the photos into her blog post content

Again, download the attached 'easysocial.php' file and copy the file into folder 'JOOMLA/components/com_easyblog/classes/mediamanager/' and overwrite the existing easysocial.php file.

Let me know if this work for you or not

Hope this help and have a nice day!

Hello Luc,

Kindly please find the response to your inquiries below,

1) When I add the Module to EasySocial Albums, it shows all x latest albums, including the Event albums. When I create a menu item With the EasySocial >> All Albums, it only shows the albums but not the Event Albums. If that an undocumented feature or is there a way to also include the Event albums in the overview? (or at least to make that an optional selection in either direction?

By default, the albums displayed in the module should only display albums from users instead of Events. I believe there's a bug in the module because we can't / should not display other albums alongside with user albums because we can't really check against the privacy of the event / group albums.

2) If I have multiple albums on my profile but only want to share some albums with some people and other albums of mine with other people, is there a way to do that? Eg based menu items or on profile types or so? (not sure if groups would help here... didn't get that group concept yet.)

Currently you can only do this with the album's privacy.

Hello Mark,

Thanks for the clarification. Is it possible to set the privacy per album or based on a profile category instead just everyone and friends? Or what would be a possible/best way to have some of my albums viewable to some users and others to only other users? Is there a way? (somehow )

On BE I can make i.g. different team blogs and based on the access to the team blogs, some users will only see one of both, both or none of the posts. How can I do this with the Albums? Is there a way to limit access to albums based on groups or access restrictions or any other way?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Regards,
Luc

Hello Luc,

Hm, not really sure if I understand you here. What do you mean by setting the privacy per album? Currently you can already define a custom privacy for each albums as you can see here, http://screencast.com/t/lRKywwHBj

Hi Mark,
Yes I know that one and with custom I can define user profiles, but can there also be groups or team blogs specified then? so that I don't have to list each user separately but can specify a gout of users? Or can I define those groups in the drop down somewhere?

Hello Luc,

Ah, unfortunately right now that's not possible We might consider adding "profile types" into the list in the future but right now it's not possible

Hello Luc,

Unfortunately right now there's no quick work around for this unless you manually set the privacy for each albums and restrict it to different users.

Hi Mark,

Ok, understand. Thanks for your endurance to keep answering

Such enhancement requests should i post them somewhere else or do you take them automatically out of the posts like these?

PS: You guys have a great product, I had almost given up on Joomla, but you guys brought it back in scope. (Although there are a few items to align EB and ES, but the scope and use is different, thanks again

Hello Luc,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Thank you for your kind compliments and Thank you for giving Joomla a chance! Yep, you should post them at http://stackideas.com/voices/easysocial

By the way, Joomla is extremely powerful if you are doing things right. The problem with most users using Joomla feels that it ***** simply because of the extensions that you use. I am not saying that all extensions are doing things incorrectly but it seems to give users the impression that Joomla *****.

Mark,

Sorry to be persistent on this one, but I think I found a way to accomplish this but had then another issue, may be you can help here....
So the point was to have my photo albums split between two set of users. Ig Album 1 can be seen by members of team blog 1 and Album 2 only by members of team blog 2. Currently on Albums this is only possible if you set the customised authority, which is way too complicated to change each time, especially if the members of each blog may change.

Anyway ... If I use a group in ES which has the same members as the respective blog:
So Team blog 1 = ES Group 1 and Team blog 2 = ES Group 2
I found that in each group I can add albums, and they would only be visible to each group. Great!.... but....
When I write an article on either team blog, I can't see my albums in the media manager so I would have to upload those pictures again.
Cant it be that under My media, ALL of my photos, including group albums and events would be visible/accessible, please.
This would be a great way forward. Currently I only see the photos of albums which I added to the site not to a specific group. Although they are still "my" media I would think all albums should be visible. Btw, even the event albums would be good.

Kind regards,
Luc

Hi Luc,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding the albums in your ES groups, I am sorry but currently in EasyBlog the EasySocial's album integration only retrieve the albums thats are 'user' albums and not groups nor events. Anyway, if you really need to include groups albums or events album, attached the customised php file where the script will retrieve all albums that are belong to a user irregardless the album type.

Download the attached 'easysocial.php' file and copy the file into folder 'JOOMLA/components/com_easyblog/classes/mediamanager/' and overwrite the existing easysocial.php. Remember to backup your original file 1st before overwrite with the modified version.

Now, when you go to your EasyBlog frontend the media manager, you should be able to see your group albums.

Let me know if this work for you or not.
Hope this help and have a nice day
