When sending a user (or friend) a message, is there a way to alert them that they have a message waiting by sending a notification to the email that they registered with?
Hi Peter,

Yes it can. You can go to your backend > easysocial > alerts > and search for "Conversation - New conversation" as you can see from my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/JMBESScN .

Hi Peter,

In my local everything is working correctly. Perhaps you can provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can check on the issue directly?

Hey peter,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I've checked in your previous forum posts, but it seems like there was no any login credential you provided.

perhaps you can provide the Joomla backend and FTP access in this post thread, so we can help you check on this quickly?

Hi Peter,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

I've checked your email activity and the email notification did get generated from your backend email activity area. However all of those email are not being publish as you can see from my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/xLjwqj19miI . This is because you haven't set a cronjob for easysocial on your server. You can refer to our documentation here on how to set up cronjob for your site, http://stackideas.com/docs/easysocial/administrators/cronjobs .

In the meantime, you can enable the following options from your backend > easysocial > settings > general, http://screencast.com/t/b2kEqGj2ra so that all pending emails will be processed for every page load of your site.

Hi Peter,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

I've helped you to set up the cronjob on your server but it seems like the minimum possible interval set by your hosting are 30 minutes for each cronjob to be run. Hence email notification will on your easysocial site will only get processed once for every 30 minutes. If you want the email to be delivered faster, you can consult with your webhosting service provider and ask them to reduce the interval time by 15 minutes or less.

Hope these help.

Yes. that seems to work immediately. The problem seems to be when you invite friends via their email address. ES says its in the queue to send the invitation but the email is never received by the intended recipient. (I assume this is still a cronjob issue?)

Hi Peter,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply. The reason why your email did not get automatically send out is because your server can only executed 1 cronjob for every 30 minutes. Hence you will not get to see the email get processed immediately once the email is already in easysocial mail pool. Easysocial can not control the behavior of cronjob execution as the process is totally dependent on your webhosting itself. If you want the cronjob to be execute slightly faster, you can get in touch with your webhosting provider and see what is their requirement for you to get a faster cronjob.

By the way this is what I seeing from your easysocial mail activity, http://screencast.com/t/0IzpkFlpLp . Hope these help.

Hey Peter,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply as we are a little occupied with the development of EasySocial 1.4 beta currently. I have just checked your site and there are no "Pending" emails in your mail activities section. Am I missing anything here?

Hey Peter,

Do you get email notifications when user registers on the site or if you register on the site? Is this particularly only for friend invites?
