Hello guys!

I have a few questions regarding the advanced search about things that I don´t know if are possible or not within the EasySocial advanced search. Hope you can help me.

I would like to create an advanced search very similiar to the screenshot I send you, the closest I can get to it, the better (image1) actually with very similar searching criteria.

So I woud like to know:

-I would like to link the advanced search to the "community" button on my menu (image2) is it possible?

-Is it possible to set one only sitewide filter for all the users? I mean that once they look for the advanced search they can only use the criteria I setted before for everyone, without the option of adding/removing any criteria or make another kind of search by their own?

- Is it possible to delete the "equal to" and just show the criteria and the multidropdown list/ text box?

- Is it possible to set the "birthday" criteria to "Age" so the users can search between a min.age and a max. age and not by birthday?

- In the "gender" criteria, is it possible to remove the "other" and just let them choose between male/female?

Thank you in advance!
Hi Adrián Egido,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply, please find your answer in your queries below :
-I would like to link the advanced search to the "community" button on my menu (image2) is it possible?

I believe that was possible after I do some global search regarding this, you can take a look of my reference link, one of the link is depend on your template is it support this feature, another one is the Joomla mega menu.

Hope this help.

Yes, Superadmin can set the search filter for sitewide from the Easysocial advanced search page, check my screenshot : http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-05-28_2010.png || http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-05-28_2011.png

- Is it possible to delete the "equal to" and just show the criteria and the multidropdown list/ text box?

Unfortunately we do not have the setting to disable this in current system.

- Is it possible to set the "birthday" criteria to "Age" so the users can search between a min.age and a max. age and not by birthday?

Do you mean something like this? Check my screenshot : http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-05-28_2025.png
if no, can you provide us more information regarding this?

- In the "gender" criteria, is it possible to remove the "other" and just let them choose between male/female?

Yes, you can modify on this file -> JoomlaFolder\modules\mod_easysocial_dating_search\tmpl\default.php
            <label class="radio-inline">
<input type="radio" name="search-gender" value="3" <?php echo ($userData == "3") ? 'checked="checked"' : ''; ?> data-gender-radio /> <?php echo JText::_('MOD_EASYSOCIAL_DATING_SEARCH_GENDER_OTHERS'); ?>
</label>

Hello,

I am also interested in a more configurable user search module (and page) in particular with some of your ideas or questions :
- delete the "equal to" and just show the criteria and the multidropdown list/ text box?
- set the "birthday" criteria to "Age" so the users can search between a min.age and a max. age and not by birthday?
- remove the "other" and just let them choose between male/female?

I have already asked to rename the "advanced search" page to "USER advanced search page" and proposed to extend the dating module to a personalized user search module

hope the dev. team will take this in mind

Searching language constants will be your best friend in terms of choosing what text to display on your site. Do you know how to use Joomla's word replacer?

Hello Josh,

Thank for for sharing.

Loic,

I am also interested in a more configurable user search module (and page) in particular with some of your ideas or questions :
- delete the "equal to" and just show the criteria and the multidropdown list/ text box?
- set the "birthday" criteria to "Age" so the users can search between a min.age and a max. age and not by birthday?
- remove the "other" and just let them choose between male/female?

Currently it is not possible to achieve it out of the box. I will forward this to our devs team and hopefully they can do something about it. You are always welcomed to post it in our easysocial voices page so that our devs can see the request directly from there.

I have already asked to rename the "advanced search" page to "USER advanced search page" and proposed to extend the dating module to a personalized user search module

Thank you for your kind feedback. In the meantime you can change the "advanced search" name to another name by using joomla language override like Josh mentioned in his reply.

Hi guys, thanks for your answer.

There´s one thing regarding the second of my questions, I know I can set a filter as sitewide as you told me, but you didn´t answer to the whole question : "I mean that once they look for the advanced search they can only use the criteria I setted before for everyone, without the option of adding/removing any criteria or make another kind of search by their own?"

What I want is to create one only sitewide filter for the advanced search so I can set the criteria I want to be in the filter. I want to set it as the "default" advanced search. So I don´t want my users to be able to create their own advanced search filters, I want that they can just use the one I´ve stablished before for them. Is that possible?

Thanks in advance, and thanks for your effort I really appreciate it.

Hello Adrian,

Ah I see. Currently it is not possible to do so . Perhaps you can feature this idea in our easysocial voice pages so that other users and our developers can see it directly.

Thank you for your kind suggestion and have a nice day!
