Hey Christian,

Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access into http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so we can help you check on this?

This issue has nothing to do with Wanderers at all. When you are logged in, there seems to be another module that you have placed above EasySocial's toolbar and it is causing the ads at the bottom to follow the same settings.

As soon as I turned off the top module, the sidebar module is working correctly. You need to review your banner settings.

I dont think that is accurate. I disabled all side items I created besides the ad and this behavior keeps happening.
It seems to only happen on chrome.
There is no easy way to manage the position of the side items predefined by easy social so it always has to go under the groups, events etc. I have disabeld this also from easy social and the issue still happening.

BTW: YOU GUYS UNPUBLISHED MY TOP AD AND LEFT IT UNPUBLISHED, good thing I logged in and re-enabled it.

Hey Christian,

I have been checking the site and we can't control how the ads are appearing as they are all being rendered by Google Adsense. When the image is appearing horizontally, Google is actually setting the width on the ad and there is nothing we can do as these are being generated by Google.

That's kind of odd so the position in the wanderers theme does not specify the vertical limits?
Any other template I have used will restrict the space to the vertical box. This is how google will render the ads and they will always be vertical.

Also, Why does it only happened on chrome and not in Firefox, and only when I log in to the site? This is not googles issue it completely looks like the theme's issue.

Hey Christian,

The width / height is defined within the ad itself. There is already a defined width / height on the template but the image itself is rendered as a horizontal image.

The only way to address this right now is to add an overflow: hidden on the module wrapper but this does not fix the real issue because your ad is still not vertical. It's still generated as horizontal as you can see from my screen shot below.

If you want the codes to enforce that anything that goes beyond the width of the module, you could use the following codes,

P/S: I think you should bring this up with Google's support.

One more thing. I had a test site with the beta version of wanderers and never had issues with it. I tested it and the ads were ALWAYS showing right. I just updated to the latest version of the template the the issue started happening. I KNOW is something with the latest version of the template.

Hey Christian,

The ads are being generated by Google and we have no control over how they are being generated. When inspecting the ads, it seems like Google is enforcing a width of 728 pixels and a height of 90 pixels. Even if we set the display to be hidden when the image overflows out of the defined width / height, the ad would still not be viewable as you can probably only see 10% of the ad since the rest are hidden.

The issue here is Google needs to generate the ad as vertical and not horizontal. I strongly advise that you take a look at your Google ads settings and see if there is a way to enforce ads to be vertical.
