OK - I have posted on a similar issue some weeks back, and thought it was all resolved. Since then the problem as returned, thought somewhat different.

My personal account on my site, Makotosun which is not a super user account, but has all other privileges, cannot be logged in and view my own profile, or my dashboard, or the recent activity list. I can get to pictures, albums, user lists, etc. but not my own stuff. I also logged in as a super-user and cannot see the profile, though the super user can get to the super user dashboard, profile and recent activity of the site.

When I log in as a test regular registered user, I can see all profiles as well as everything else.

The profile that is the problem is the same one from an earlier inquiry and has this url: http://yamaha-enduros.com/index.php/forums-community/my-dashboard/profile/989-makotosun

I have set up a super user account below in the site details for you to access the back end. I just tested it and you will not be able to see the profile as a super user, but you can get to the site activity and other profiles, etc. I tested it for back end access too.

None of this was malfunctioning for quite awhile, but it has returned. Any thoughts?

I know you are out for the weekend

Thank you in advance!

Gary Bashor.
Hello Gary,

I tried to view a profile with the user account that you have provided but I am unable to reproduce this issue on your site. When viewing the profile "2smoke", the page renders just fine as you can see here, http://screencast.com/t/SQLcpHaIuCBA . I believe the user account has super administrator privileges?

I probably did not explain the poblem well.

All regular registered users re working dine.

All of h super users an see all of the regular pofiles. The super users cannot see the "Recent site acticity" which is under h community menu and is the "wall".

My acount (login below) cannot see the wall or my own profile, I can see everyone elses profiles fine. If I log in as just a "dummy" registered user, all works fine.

Thank you for looking! Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Love the software overall!

Hello Gary,

For some odd reasons, the Kunena attachments are actually generating an infinite loop which causes the page to be blank. We actually utilize the API that Kunena provides and when testing this locally, it seems to be working fine. Are you on the latest version of Kunena?

To fix this, I had to exclude attachments from being processed on the stream.

Okay, after running more tests, I can finally confirm that this issue is related to your memory_limit. After creating a php.ini file and setting the value of memory_limit to 256M, everything works flawlessly now

Mark - once again you are a lifesaver! The issue does appear to be solved and I am even noticing the site seems to be running faster overall.

I will let you know if anything else arises, but for now it all seems good!

Thank you so much!

Hi guys,

Sorry to intrude in to this conversation but if you set your PHP memory limit that high and you get very high traffic, I wonder wether this might actually cause an out of memory error for the server over all. On a VPS this would not be allowed for this reason. On a dedicated server you can do whatever you want but if you don't have a lot of RAM, you can crash your server or run in to swapping issues which might slow the server to a halt. I have run in to this problem before. Perhaps I'm wrong but it might be worth reviewing with your host. Boosting the memory limit will solve the problem at hand but may create another one.

Thanks for everyone's insights.

The site is running nicely now, without any of the prior errors. I will post back if something goes awry!

Hi Jordan - I see your concern about the memory limit issue for a high traffic site. This is a specialty site and traffic right now is the goal not the problem.

If and when we see that as an issue, I can explore other options. My hosting right now is seeming to handle things fine.

You are welcome to come by and visit and boost my traffic . . .
