Hi,
We have uploaded a video which was recorded on an iphone in portrait mode but when we play it appears as a small video in the top left of the video player.
We tried changing the sizes for the video n the back end but that didn't solve the issue.

Any ideas how we can get these videos to fill the video player.

You can see the problem if you go to https://community.online-communities.info
Login using xxx and go to the Diary option then play the first video under Rich Video Blog.

Thanks
Carly
Hello Carly,

I can't seem to play the video (I think it's probably due to my bad connection that I have currently). This is what I am seeing after clicking the play button, http://screencast.com/t/bvzsO7DNn . How does it appear for your screen?

Hello Carly,

Is it possible for you to upload the original video source here? It does seem like the way the video is recorded is different and since EasyBlog does not actually process videos, it is probably not rendering correctly.

Normally what you should do is to import the video from your mobile device to your desktop and perform the necessary conversion to flv. Then, upload the flv file via EasyBlog's media manager.

Hi,

Can you tell me what video formats are supported by EasyBlog - some of our users record the video on the iPhone as a .mov file - is this one of the filetypes you do support

Thanks
Carly

Hi again,

We have recorded two .mov videos on the iPhone one with the phone in portrait and one with the phone in landscape.
The landscape one works fine but we have the problem with the portrait one as described above.

Hope this helps

Hello Carly,

It's best that you process and convert the videos to flv format but the problem here isn't about the format but the orientation which needs to get fixed when you convert these videos.

Hi,

A lot of our video's come directly from the iPhone - so our users wouldn't have the facilities (or the knowledge) to convert them to .FLV files.
Will EasyBlog not support .MOV files?

Thanks
Carly

Hello Carly,

All EasyBlog does is to embed the video player in the blog post when you upload a video via the media manager. It doesn't actually process the videos or convert the videos. In other words, it displays the video as is. If your browser supports viewing of .mov files, it should work but the problem would probably be the screen orientation.
