I'm am trying to upgrade EasyBlog as a preliminary step to upgrading Joomla from 3.4.8 to 3.5. The upgrade seems to go ok, but some functionality is broken. Specifically, the 'recent blog posts' page loads, but trying to open a specific post gives a PHP error. Also, the main post image is huge, instead of a thumbnail.

This can be seen here:
http://joomla35.cal-sailing.org/blogfrontpage/recent-blog-posts

Compared to 3.9 on the production site:
http://www.cal-sailing.org/blogfrontpage/recent-blog-posts

Attached is a screenshot of one of the upgrade steps where a red mark appears, but there's no text for it so I'm not sure if it's relevant.

Appreciate any help/advice. Thanks!
Hey John,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I have checked your site and it looks like Community Builder's plugin, "Content - Community Builder Author" is actually modifying the author object when the page renders. As soon as I turned this plugin off, the page works fine now

Mark, good find! Thanks for taking a look. Blog posts are loading now. However, the blog image is huge instead of a thumbnail, have any ideas on that?

Thanks again

Hey John,

You can adjust the post cover settings at [b]Settings>Layout>Post Cover[/b (refer to screenshot).

I've make some adjustments for you to imitate your settings at the other site. If you are would like to make more adjustments you can proceed to the settings section as I mentioned above.

Sorry to bring up this older ticket, just now getting around to moving forward on the project. Everything is looking better, but now I'm running into another PHP error when I go to 'Blog Categories'.

http://joomla35.cal-sailing.org/blogfrontpage/blog-categories

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/calsaili/joomla35_domain/components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/blogs/categories/default.simple.php on line 28

Could you take a look?

Much appreciated

Hey John,
We cleared your cache and changed your Easyblog category simple layout menu item to show all categories(refer screenshot)
http://screen.stackideas.com/Administration_-_Menus__Edit_Item_-_Google_Chrome_2016-06-29_12.25.19.png

The reason we changed this menu item layout is because menu type `Easyblog category simple layout` is already removed in EB5.
Your page is working fine now. Check it out and let me know how it goes. Thanks.

Just wanted to give one last follow-up on this. We were able to do the upgrade on production and with the changes outlined above all went very smoothly. Thank you for the help!
