Hi,

I was excited and was (not so...) patiently waiting for the release of Conversekit.
I have to be honest and tell you now I am very dissapointed.

It misses features (options/integrations) and also better UX in the composer.
The navigation in the conversation list and conversation itself could have been much better and clearer.

I find it also so much overpriced for its actual features.
Competition - with maybe a little older design - has better UX, better composer, more integration and integrated features and on top is 30% cheaper!

Very dissapointed...
Thanks for your insights on this and I appreciate this very much On the contrary, as opposed to other chat systems, ConverseKit is not even 2 days since the day we launch it so I am pretty sure we have plenty of room for improvements.

Yes Mark,

Conversekit is very young and there is no doubt it will grow up.

My feedback is that you should look at Jbolo that is the for me the real benchmark - (its design is not).
I know not many like Techjoomla but honestly JBolo is the best value for money.
You should take a look at ALL its features and improve them for Conversekit, then maybe I will buy Conversekit though still pricey.

Looking forward for testing the next improved version

Um.....as someone who has tried virtually all the chat components out there (and at huge cost I might add) I haven't found a single one which provides the seamless integration, simplicity, reliability and responsiveness that I need.

This includes Cometchat, Arrowchat, JBolo, Flyzoo, 123Flashchat, JChatSocial etc

Initially all have good aspects and seems to offer a great solution. However, on implementation you find that they slow down the webpages, don't integrate well, cause problems on mobile devices and often cause conflicts with other javascript-based components.

Many have antiquated, ugly interface which members don't like or are missing critical features like integrated blocked members
(for example, my members hate it if they block an annoying member in Easysocial only to find the same blocked member is now bugging them through the chat system).

Further, you are now saddled with the issue of having to support 2 different components who, whilst integrated, have completely different design philosophies. So what happens when say EasySocial 2.1 gets released? Will the other chat components be updated? What about conflicts? How do you resolve those when each company blames the other's product?

The point is that, unless there is a compelling reason to use external products, I would always rather stick to Easysocial developed apps. I get great support, I get constant updates and I get a solution that works.

Yes, Conversekit is a bit spartan when it comes to features, but right now it does the basics well and I know Mark and his team will make it better over time.

PS
The JBolo UX is pretty awful and wasn't well received by my members. And to be honest, I can't really see must-have feature in JBolo that is missing from Conversekit, other than some back-end stats.
But yes, the price is better.

Thanks for your input on this Marc! Certainly, ConverseKit is only 3 days old now and over time, more features would be thrown into it

If one doesn't see the must-have features it is probably because his project does not need them...or he just missed them.

- Integration with iMaqma
- App ACLs
- 2 front-end themes (even if you don't like them there are 2 available)
- Preview of file sharing
- Chat Status Availability
- Custom Status text
- Chat windows does not hide the majority of the webpage like Conversekit does...
- Chat integration with Easysocial Inbox
- Chat opt out (completely - only group chat)
- Easysocial Group Chat with ACLs, this is a "chat room" for dedicated ES Group that you initiate with a button on the group page sidebar (NOT just a chat between more than 2 users!)
- Integration with SocialAds, a public/registered user has the possibility to chat with the owner of a displayed advertisement.
- On desktop, easily view multiple active conversations
- Price: $54.99 / 1 year
The point is that, unless there is a compelling reason to use external products, I would always rather stick to Easysocial developed apps. I get great support, I get constant updates and I get a solution that works.

I totally agree, but for the moment I see the reasons to continue with Jbolo until Conversekit grows and meets my features/price expectations.

Those are pretty extensive features that to be honest doesn't make sense to be in a chat system. Some of them sounds nice like having group messaging but I would lean towards simplicity over complexity any time.

Most important for me right now is the update of EB5 with new template postitions for adding advertisements and direct media access for slideshow thumbs, etc.

ConversKit has time to grow
