Today we are proud to release latest version for SectionEx, v1.6.8. This release fixes several bugs in template override and page title. With this new version, you can simply choose to use theme from template override folder or other themes, configurable in your menu item parameter. With this option, you have more freedom in choosing your preferred styles without limits.

How to use different theme?

Let’s say you have 3 menu items that link to different sections. Each one of these menu item can use different theme, just select which theme you preferred and you are good to go.

How about template override?

Now for the interesting part. Some of you might have override SectionEx in your Joomla! template. If you are using the previous version of SectionEx, all of your theme settings will be ignored. Yeah, I know it’s a pity but that’s how Joomla! template override works.

However we are using a different and better approach now, where we allow you to bypass it by choosing another theme and at the same time it can still override the template style which is also configurable , per menu item.
