Did I miss the beta testing invite - or is that just an inhouse beta test that the StackIdeas SuperHeroes are doing? I've been waiting patiently for many months for EasySocial - had to jettison my prior social component a while back as it gave too much trouble.... but I know EasySocial will be a masterpiece - bring it on! :)

Nope, there's no beta yet :) This is just something that we will constantly be sharing in the coming days. So, please do stay tune to our blogs and Facebook. Who knows, what would come up next :)

This is great news if it is anything to go by on your current extensions then this WILL give Jom Social a run for its money and they may start listening to their community.

    Hello Cristiano,

    Please find the answers below:

1 - The Easy Social It is mobile responsive?

    Yep, it is responsive :)

2 - The Easy Social It is Complete Bootstrap integration - backend and front end?

    Yep, that's right :)

3 - The Easy Social It is integrated with EasyBlog, EasyDiscuss, Komento?

    Yep, that's correct.

4 - Easy Social It is compatible with the 3.x version of Joomla?

    Definitely :)

5 - The Easy Social It is integrated with Playplans?

I believe the Payplans team would definitely build integrations with EasySocial because of the scalable API that we have in EasySocial, it would be extremely easy for them to do so :)

6 - The Easy Social It is ACL Support:
Control who can access different features on the backend
Control who can access different features on the front end
Default ACL group for community members who completed profile
Ability to set different ACL groups for different profile types

Yep, that's possible :) However, it's tied to use groups in Joomla so other payment components can easily build their extension which supports both Joomla and EasySocial out of the box.

7 -The Functions, such as: activity feed, wall, groups, friends, events, etc. .. can be enabled and disabled, in control panel ?

Most of them are available as settings in the back end :)

8 - The Easy Social It is Profile extended with advanced search ??

This is in the roadmap :)

9 - The Easy Social It is integrated with JFBConnect ??

It has a built in Facebook connect functionality and it should work with JFBConnect out of the box :)

Jomsocial is very expensive. 150u$ for 6month support.
I ask them a ticket. Their feedback sent to me 4weeks since I ask them.
I ask them on forum. Their staff answer me for 3 month later
    Sh*t

  • Randall M

In reply to: Guest - nascimentw about 1 year ago

Simplicity is best. Jomsocial made the mistake of trying to mimic or clone facebook, and became a bug ridden bloatware clone of facebook. This article goes into why simplification of the interface is best in the long run.

"It turns out that less stuff equals more usage when you’re at a network breakpoint. The warning to heed isn’t to avoid breakpoints; it is to avoid too much expansion after a breakpoint."

What Facebook could learn from suicidal brain cells
Facebook is getting too tangled and overloaded with features, and it's time for it to start putting simplicity ahead of growth, Jeff Stibel writes. Much as the brain prunes synaptic connections to avoid excessive complexity, Facebook should cut out the distractions and focus on streamlining its core functions, Stibel argues. "[T]here is now more value, more utility, in offering less. ... Just like the brain, Facebook could separate out the fluff and strengthen the important relationships," he writes.

    Hi,

A clone will be a complete replica so rest assured that EasySocial is nothing like Facebook except that it makes socialing online much easier than the rest thats available in the market. ;) Our upcoming screenshots should give you a clearer picture of EasySocial. :D

Do you could publish(today) the new screenshots ?
You need to launch a Beta EasySocial this week.

The stable version of Jomsocial 3.0, will be released this week.

It is necessary for a comparison between the two products

EasySocial will have fan Page functionality available which is always missing in Jomsocial. Is it possible for the user to create a new connection types for people in their list such as close friend, family, company staff etc so they can share specific activities to specific people only to serve there privacy issues just like the activity stream available in Google+ in circle. It is best tool i consider myself for any social community.

  • Mark

In reply to: kapil sahu about 1 year ago

Some of the features that you mentioned will be there while some doesn't :) However, don't be too sad about it because those that doesn't are already in the pipeline and in our road map as well :)

    hi,
I do not think good idea, launch EasySocial after Jomsocial30 because we are desperate. I do not like Jomsocial but I can not stand waiting to EasySocial.

Should avoid making the same mistakes Jomsocial.
Will I be able to use EasySocial to create a dating site ?
I tried to create a dating site with Jomsocial but was not successful...

Mark, Have you seen how easy it is to Extend EasySocial with Dropbox capabilities? They claim a few sile lines of code for developers to add Dropbox support. Could give ES an edge over Jomsocial. https://www.dropbox.com/developers/dropins

    Drop-ins
Drop-ins are cross-platform UI components that can be integrated in minutes. The Chooser provides your app with instant access to files in Dropbox, and the Saver makes saving files to Dropbox one-click simple.

And now you are giving us a clean, integrated, extensible replacement for JomS? I swoon.

Will this and Community Builder be able to work together and if so what sort of interaction between them?

  • Mark

In reply to: Andrew Heritage about 1 year ago

Not sure what sort of "integrations" are you looking at in between but I don't think it might make sense :p It's like building EasyBlog in Wordpress

  • Andrew Heritage

In reply to: Mark about 1 year ago

I have a website with users that is based on Community builder with the activity stream from CB so I am wondering if this will work with or replace the CB Activity stream? Perhaps it will replace Community Builder entirely (in which case will the other CB enabled components on my website work with this? Many of them have support for CB and JomSocial but obviously not yet for EasySocial!)

Also I wonder how things like creating friends and restricting access to what you share with them and other members of the site can see works? For instance if a user changes a setting in their profile CB_Activity stream will show that if set up, but the user can say they only want friends to see it. If they upload a picture it can be just for friends or for everyone etc.

    Hello Andrew,

I am sorry, missed your comments here earlier. Yes, we do have a built-in activity stream. Not sure how does Community Builder's stream looks like though.

Yes, you can actually select the privacy for each post that you have made on the stream and you can also define your own set of access per user based :)

First I'm excited to see this new extension, second I'm sure you have thought this already, but you need to release a step by step tutorial on moving from jomsocial to easysocial (unless you want to develop a migration plugin :) ).

  • Mark

    Hello Richard,

Sorry, I missed your comments here :( The first release of EasySocial will include a built-in migrator for JomSocial :)

  • Alan

Will EasySocial allow users to to follow other users without have to request being a friend (ie. twitter or instagram format). I'm currently creating a sports network in JomSocial and some of my Athletes was requesting not have to approve or friend their fan base but Im not currently able to make that work under JomSocia.

  • Mark

In reply to: Alan about 1 year ago

    Hello Alan,

We have a built-in followers system and a friend system as well. However, what you are looking for is a pretty niche functionality which I do think can be scaled to your likings because EasySocial itself is pretty scalable :)

  • mimografix

Hi congrats everybody its waiting for something like this.

just a feature that it will be good to see on EasySocial

Categories for Albums, please dont forget that, Jomsocial doest have it and i think all the community need that feature.

    thanks

  • Randall M

I agree. Photo Albums should have Categories, so they can be organized properly. A major 'Must Have' feature.

Can I make a profile without albums on the front page? Just the pictures that the users uploads.

    Examples:
    http://dribbble.com/bluroon
    http://www.behance.net/watsondg

  • Mark

It wouldn't be possible out of the box but you could definitely create an app for that :p

  • ibrahim clayton

In reply to: Mark about 1 year ago

Thanks for the heads up on that. And I hope I can find someone to make an app for that. :p haha

  • Mark

Because EasySocial is geared towards scalability, I don't think building such app takes much time. If what you are looking for is just to display a list of photos like dribbble, it would probably just take < 30 minutes (minus the styling of course)

  • ibrahim clayton

In reply to: Mark about 1 year ago

Hey I have an idea! Have you heard of Joomduck? They make what you just said. An profile editor for both Community Builder and Jomsocial. But they take forever to update their products. That can be something that set you guys apart. A built in profile editor. Neither Community Builder or Jomsocial has one. You to go threw Joomduck to get one. That way your user profiles can look however you want them to. Here a link to what I'm talking about: http://www.joomduck.com/extensions/community-builder-profile-pro
Hopefully I came with something of some use to you guys. :)

    I'd love to ask please:

    1) Will Easy Social support Groups eg private / hidden / public
    2) Does Easy Social have a Forum-type component
    3) Does any part of Easy Social have 'reply by email' (ie not just granular notifications by email - but the ability to interact with Easy Social content via email)?

    thanks!! :)

  • Andrew Rogers

In reply to: seaghan about 11 months ago

Hi, sorry for the delay to answer your questions. Here are the answers:

    1. It will be known as Pages instead of Groups and yes, it will be available in the future releases of EasySocial.
    2. Our very own EasyDiscuss already works with EasySocial and it is a great forum that you can consider.
    3. Sorry, this is not available.

  • Dwayne Peng

It's been a pleasure to see the EasySocial project grow! I love easy social because it's so simple and intuitive. JoomSocial tried hard to keep up with the modern times by creating a simpler interface. But they tried too hard for such a big system. Thus I see the future in these smaller social plugins for Joomla. Br, Dwayne.

  • Andrew Rogers

In reply to: Dwayne Peng about 11 months ago

Thank you so much, Dwayne! We hope to have your support till the end of time. ;)
