Table layout for SectionEx

Very recently, there was an inquiry about SectionEx not being tableless. This is really a good question and I thought it would be best for me to share it here. Why we actually used tables is mainly because originally the component itself was written in this manner and we really do not have any intentions to massively modify the template structure as it will definitely break sites that upgrade from an older version. Another reason why table is being used is mostly because of the cross browser compatibility. Another note that we should really consider is simply because there are tons of template providers out there for Joomla and by using normal xhtml codes, we are more prone to conflicts and having a table layout simply helps us minimize conflicts.

However, we will try to add a couple of new templates that uses the tableless structure in the future for the paid version.

We have been in discussions with the original author of SectionEx and since the project isn't progressing lately, we will be acquiring SectionEx and continue to support it. The name of the extension will remain the same simply because we love it and we will respect the original author's decisions. What are the differences from now on? SectionEx will be handled and maintained by us and we will still be providing it for free download (Registration required).

If you need additional support, you may purchase premium support subscriptions for SectionEx from here
